The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Dammit.

As I'm sure you've realised, I have no idea what I'm doing really, I'm just hacking about trying to learn as I go. I think I'm going to have to shelve this for now and try and have a proper "teach yourself" session at the weekend. Thanks for helping out though, I appreciate it.

I'm sure they said 24 not long ago.

Ed, I wouldn't bother listening back to the show today if that's what you usually do.

At least that now means I can be guilt free if you end up heading to radio 1 to kill Matt Fincham :D

I was actually wondering if the video streaming might show him in a different light - perhaps in real life he isn't as wet and desperate as he comes across when you can only hear his voice. Haven't seen enough yet to tell, but I'm going to grit my teeth and stay optimistic. :D

Sure, if Console's computer all explode, otherwise, there's no need. It kills my download speeds to upload, so unless Console calls in from the Burns Unit...

Of course, now Console's got it covered it should be cool. Thanks Console.

Hopefully I'll get up and running soon so there'll be another version as a back up, but it won't be before this weekend...

That's a bit harsh. I had to add (I think) -0.5s sync in VLC, but other than that, it's fine. Thanks Console! Mine is missing over an hour.

I've got the full show from Wednesday (raw Flash stream) which I'll upload tomorrow if no-one else does.

I'm getting small but annoying audio/video problems each day though, with it running fast at times (normally when Moyles starts dancing, ironically enough). Is this something people are seeing live? I don't get a chance to see much as I'm getting ready for work at the time.

Works fine for me with a bit of tweaking. As neilt0 suggests, try playing around with the file a bit at your end, you can't expect everyone else to do the work for you. The BBC stream isn't perfect either as far as I can tell, so noone's going to get a completely clean version.

Well considering i have tried downloading it first for about 4 hours it then broke and im downloading it again which says it will take up to another 6 hours. Im sure there is nothing wrong with the video it just takes sooo long to download.

I find the web streaming incredibly infuriating. Most people can't watch the live video streaming live in the morning because they're: asleep, busy getting ready for work/school, on the way to work/school or are at work/school so won't be able to sit there with the show on their computer monitors. I personally listen to the whole show on the iplayer, I can't listen live, so having to listen to them talk about watching something I have no chance of seeing is really annoying. I have downloaded the video from here and I sincerely thank neilt0, Console and J.E.D for their efforts, but due to the issue of capturing the BBC's ropey feed and then having to upload the show, it can't offer a realistic alternative (time wise) to listening to the show on the audio iplayer. The fans shouldn't be expected to cover the BBC's shortcomings anyway...

For the reasons stated above, video on demand should have been high on their list of priorities. Though the show can't be on the iplayer due BBC policies (video on the iplayer has to be broadcast on TV, sound on the radio), it could easily be embedded into a page on the Radio 1 site like this. Even if it was only online for 24hrs or had to be broken up into three parts due to the shows length, it'd still be much better then the current situation. I'd be interested know this; how many people listen to the show each day on the iplayer and whether that number is more or less then the amount of people who watch live online in the morning, as surely watching the show would be more valuable to people who listen later in the day/evening at home, as opposed to those who listen live.

Anyway, overly long rant over. :D

Actually, if they could put the stream along with the listen again option on the iPlayer I'm sure it would be a much bigger hit. So the on demand idea sounds good to me.

They'll have to do something because the live streaming is shit at the moment. Not in terms of content, but in terms of technical gremlins which have dogged all the broadcasts so far.

Strange because the earlier broadcasts a few months back seemed fine.

Does anyone else think the audio on the Video Console is quite poor? The records are much louder than the spoken bits, and you can hardly hear the music beds. Also, I have to have my computer's volume on maximum to get a decent level. Compared to the regular audio stream, it sounds like they're bypassing all the processing and compression which seems a bit crazy.

Oh, and I totally agree with it being a waste them not offering any of it on Listen Again. At least on previous trials they've had clips of video stuff available afterwards - this time there's been absolutely nothing!

Thanks for those (doesn't hurt to say it in both threads :-P ) Neilt0.

I think this 'Access all areas' has been really good, I've only seen/used it live on Greg's show but it was interesting and certainly added to the experience. I was surprised how late Matt Fincham is there till, I think he was still at his desk working after 18:30 yesterday.

The video's on the site are quite interesting too for anyone interested in what goes on behind the scenes.
