The only two parodies that I would consider having are 'Stanta' (which they apparently can't play on the air any more according to Chris) and 'Jose' (I don't like football but I though it was great, imo, the only parody which is better then the original). 'My Lamb Bhuna' was good too. I suppose I like these for them just being good songs rather then particularly hilarious one's.

Other then those I'm pretty 'meh' about the parodies, a couple were funny when I first heard them, still funny after a couple plays and are nice to hear once every couple of months ('Will Mellor' (the only laugh out loud parody, imo) & 'No Hair' being good examples). Half the parodies are mildly amusing the first time you hear them then are boring after a second play (like 'Dreaming of Debbie Mcgee', 'Waterproof' ect). The remainder are instantly boring and get more and more annoying as time goes on (inc. 'Lorry Driver', 'The Boy Does Plenty', 'Somerset Boy'. ect).

So in conclusion, I probably won't be buying the album... :P

No, it won't be an issue.

Ah ok, thanks for clarifying that Chris, I didn't really want to go back & edit any of those old shows that I had already uploaded to the archive :D

Interesting, how comes you're not a fan of the parodies?

they get "OLD" very quickly like after the first play then I just find them boring, everything else I like about the show even Matt Fincham.

O f course we all want to suport him but some of us are poverty stricken students and stuff so have to carefully choose how to spend our money

Fair enough, a few of them have dated somewhat, but still they're better than most of Radio 1's output ;)

Why? You're taking the piss, you're not trying to seriously get to the top of the charts.

It's just an opinion I have about parodies. And if he wasn't trying to get to the top of the charts, I don't think he would be releasing them on CD. Again, my opinion. Don't shoot me down for having one.

Perhaps you could spend less time on non-specific unofficial fansites and put it to good use earning yourself some extra beer/CD tokens!?

Hi - I'm new here.

However I'm used to web forums.

Ok - I've been listening to Moyles and his 'gang' since they took over from Coxie - so I guess I consider myself a fan of the show (I also liked Sara's breakfast show).
In fact I've listened to the Radio 1 breakfast show since it was hosted by Mike Reid (not the Eastenders star!) - thats from my early school days!!!

Only one thing I cannot stand about the show. So much I have to switch over to crappy local radio when it happens.

The parodies!

TBH it's basically an ego trip for someone who thinks he can sing - hasn't anyone really noticed?

He cannot sing!!! GAAAGH! But all the fawning over his parodies will make him think he can sing!!!

So - desist! DO not encourage! OR I will surely go mad listening to numpties on local radio talking about 'who wears the oddest trousers' or 'my favourite bit of pavement' etc etc!!

Apart from that - it's a damn fine show!!!

* it, I'll say it.

I love the parodies. They're my favourite bit of the show. They're what got me into listening to the Chris Moyles show in the first place. The first time I noticed him on the radio I was at work wondering who it was that was singing about a car to the tune of Martine McCutcheon's Perfect Moment.

I've downloaded loads from here over the years. I was downloading parodies long before I came onto the forums. In fact, I have a sneaking suspicion I signed up to an older version of the forums under a different name looking for some parody that wasn't in the vault! I can't find what it might have been though so I might have made that up. Or I was on another site, but I can't think what that would be if that were the case.

Despite all the songs I've downloaded, quite a few of which you'll find on my iPhone currently, I'm really looking forward to this album should it come to be. Same quality of material in the parodies, but recorded properly without being cut from the radio. I'll definitely be buying that!

So sign me up. Never mind all the naysayers on this thread.

He can actually. His voice could be a lot better, but he has an excellent natural range and his pitch is very good indeed. Vocal production, breathing and dynamic control could all do with polishing up, but those are things which can be learnt. An ear for pitch, tone and rhythm can't be taught (although they can always be improved), but those are the things he definitely has.

He should can the parody album and relase a Christmas single instead, do a parody or cover version of an existing song, I'd buy it then and could put up with listing
to it for a few weeks a year around Christmas.

This is a strong candidate for the "Silliest Question Ever" competition.

Ok, a serious question. Is that better?

You should have had a comma between 'question' and 'so'.

See that? The person above brought it back on topic! :D

And I *still* don't like those parodies, they're as funny as waking up and wondering how 'Aled' got there.

It's a big ego trip.

Some years back - about 5 - I 'permanently' (so to speak) changed to LBC (a London based talk radio station) because the ego issue had just got out of hand. He successfully railed it in and after testing the water I 'rejoined the family' ! The only thing left is the singing stuff - because he thinks he can sing. And song parodies were funny when 'Not the nine o'clock news' and 'The two Ronnies' were doing it. Early eighties.

His biggest asset is his quick humour and the precise timing he applies to it so naturally - it makes for excellent radio - with the irony that it almost feels like a talk radio station!

I also think that you can almost gauge his success on the number of ofcom complaints against him!! I believe he should *never* bow to those who complain based upon out of date lefty politically correct nonsense who take apparent disgust in something he says or does days after the event because they read it in the Guardian and they're a card carrying member of some daft minority cause to which they are not even assimilated to. If you get my drift.

I don't think it is, he just enjoys singing the songs & between him and Dave they think of some witty lyrics. I don't think it's an ego thing at all.
