No, you're right - there's almost no one still around who was born in - let alone remembers - 1967. Tit.

As is probably the case with almost everyoone on this site, I prefer Chris Moyles, but Tony Blackburn comes in my top 5.

Really? He was awful. And yes, I do remember - all too clearly.

I'm not sure what order they'd be in but my top 5 would contain Moyles, Mayo, Chris Evans, Zoe Ball and (controversially?) Mike Read.

I reckon I'd go for Moyles, Radcliffe, Mayo, Murray (RIP his radio career), Evans.

Did Colin Murray ever do breakfast?

Oh, sorry.. I was going for radio presenters, rather than breakfast show presenters.

Colin Murray did the breakfats show for one week in august 2003,with Edith, when they sat in for the then struggling Sara Cox.At that time they were the 'rising stars' of Radio One and were favourite to take over.Of course Moyles got it instead and they got afternoons 6 months later. Now Colins gone and Ediths about to dissappear into the DJs graveyard of weekend breakfast. How things change eh!

Colin went of his own accord and was doing brilliantly on his show though.

I'd never really listened to radio 1 at breakfast before Moyles - I used to put 5 Live on, but it was just for background noise really, so i don't think I could pick a top five. I adore Mark and Lard, but breakfast was clearly not their natural environment.

Although my earliest memories of the show are Steve Wright whilst on the school bus, the earliest I listened properly was Chris Evans. In fact, he's the reason I started properly listening to R1 in the first place, as after catching his show by accident one morning during the school Easter holidays I became hooked and never looked back.

I also really liked Mark and Lard in that slot, despite even knowing at the time that it wouldn't last.

Although having said that, when Kevin Greening (who I was a huge fan of) was removed from the Ball-Greening partnership I lost interest fast as I often couldn't stand Zoe on her own. 'Norman Norman Norman' is all I seem to remember hearing. And I don't mean his records being played.

So I started listening to everything on R1 other than the Breakfast show for a few years.

Sara Cox wasn't much of an improvement as she was insufferable at the time, although I love her now. I was also disappointed when Moyles got the gig as I still hated him then, but was turned around completely over the 5 years, moving first to occasional listener and then finally to regular listener again in late 2006, which of course I have been ever since.

My top 5 would therefore consist of Evans, Moyles, Mark & Lard, Ball & Greening (both) and Mayo. Although I'm cheating slightly on Simon Mayo because I never heard him as a regular breakfast presenter (only during his emergency placement period between Evans and Mark & Lard), but know him well from the mid-mornings.

She'd been doing Breakfast for a good while before she even met him though. And even then, she really only talked about him in the run up to their wedding, which was kind of understandable.

To go on about it to the extent that she did, I don't think so. And if it really was only the run up to the wedding, then it was an insufferable few weeks/months.

She also picked up right where she left off during her show with Sara in 2007, just in case anyone had forgotten.

Ah bless him - he almost sounds like he actually means it!
