Pete Tong has started the weekend on radio one every friday for the last 18 years-tonight,right now,hes doing it for the very last time.Annie Mac takes over next friday.Its the end of an era.

I'm not always a fan of what he plays, i prefered him when he played hardcore early in his career before going to over to house, but you cant deny his passion and dedication to dance music.

Annie Mac will do brilliantly, she has a much more open mind mind when it comes the dance scene

ya'll are just lucky to have a regular house-dance-electronic presence on the radio at all. Here it is shunned on the radio since there isn't a strong market-ability, and hard to break in for commercials. US radio sucks. Tha's why I bought the satellite radio :mrgreen:

I really do hate to jump on the "Bradcali is wrong bandwaggon" but.....

Pete is just moving to the 9pm-11pm slot on Friday evenings, starts on 25th September.

Dance music is great if you are in a club and wanting to dance. On the radio, it really just doesn't work, there's no point to it unless you are in a club.

It's never been a big thing of mine either, but there are dance tracks that really make me WANT to. The problem is, hearing them on the radio just underlines how they really only work in a different environment, however much I might like them. I just hear them and think "what a waste".

Hay! I'm not a... hang on I like Doctor Who, have taped loads of old Chris Moyles Shows, oh * it I am a geek :lol:

I was in pubs six years ago, never been one for dance clubs, would rather sit down and have several pints than stand up necking back shots personally.

Sorry, but Bradcali is correct here. He said Pete Tong won't "start the weekend" anymore - which is true, Annie will since she is on Fridays at 7. He never said Pete was leaving Radio 1
