Chris Evans has suggested he will easily beat Moyles in t he audience ratings within 2 years according to a new interview about his new show,and to promote hisn ew autobiography..He says Moyles migt have a good first year against him but it will all be downhill from there.He says Chris has to come up with new material instead of just 'talking abut himself' all the time if he wants to survive on the radio.Evans thinks that he has more of a long term future because his average audience is older then him whereas he says that Moyles is older than most of his listeners (which in fairness is probably true) and therefore is on the way out the door, to paraphrase him.Its a very confident interview by Evans,.He really seems to think he will be as succesful as Wogan and inherit his breakfast crown.I wonder if his arrogance is justified? http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/ ... how_battle

ps Evans also confirmed yesterday h is breakfast show wil be longer than Wogans and run from 7 to 9.30am ,so Sarah Kennedy fans are up in arms as well as the TOGS

It's almost like he is trying to "court publicity" well I never, and him being so new to the business and all.

Chris should take it as a compliment, and then carry on talking about himself and see Evans humiliated in the next 12 months...

Love the fact Evans thinks he knows how to produce a successful morning breakfast show.
What he thinks he knows - who cares? He had his chance and blew it. Wish I could go into more depth about the ginger bore, but never listened. Wonder how many here will have a sneaky flick over to R2 just out of curiosity? Like they'd let on though!

I never used to like Chris Evans, but he currently has a drive time show that is light years ahead of Mills in terms of quality. I'm looking forward to him going to breakfast because he will be my choice of listening when Moyles is off and Mills is filling in and Simon Mayo's drive time show (assuming it is going to be him taking over from Evans) should be brilliant.

Simon Mayo is definitely moving to drivetime on Radio 2 - he confirmed it on 5 Live a couple of weeks back. He also confirmed he'll still be doing the film show with Kermode.
