The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

But savage? are you sure?

Hang on. Aled was talking about the whole thing and said something like "there was talk on the forums yesterday - er hello cm.net by the way....." and then Chris, out of nowhere just said "oh now they'll all bleat that we always slag them off". That was all. No slagging off actually, just a teeny tiny mention which was pretty reasonable and over in a flash. Or did I miss something?

A point I was trying to raise by starting this thread..... Guess it really does to some people!!

I realised what you were doing but the general input seemed to suggest that people thought they HAD slagged us off - I thought I might have heard some and missed some more, that's all........and no, it doesn't matter at all, I quite like the slightly prickly relationship between this site and the CMS team. Better than the UM/Mills show mutual ball-sucking and arse-licking festival anyway.

I dislike it when people (newbies AND regulars) seem to try and phrase posts in a way that they might get mentioned on the radio. I agree that we shouldn't be all ball sucky but to start a post saying how shite something is, when it's a one off - it seems like attention seeking to me.

I dislike it even more when it bloody works.

to be honest when dave called me socially inadequate on air a few years ago i loved it! chris was obviously amused enough to read some hilarious quip out on air at 8am on national radio that i had written, i took that as a compliment really. was nice that i had amused chris for a brief second. but he is right you are all geeks

That's going to make life a bit uncomfortable then.

Actually, it makes it more comfortable. If someone calls me a geek, I don't get offended unlike others. In fact, I regularly refer to myself as a geek. I find it fits.

Maybe "object" was the wrong word in my previous post. I merely meant that society seeing it as a negative thing is a bit odd.

I like geeks anyway. They are usually sweet and funny.

I'm pretty sure that the fact you own an iPhone makes you a geek. Anything else only compounds it further.

Well not specifically cheese - manufacturers of all dairy products I imagine.

If the main sneer of the slaggers is that geeks are essentially sexually inactive hurrhurr! then they need to whisk themselves off to a Furries convention whereupon they'll find the myth :- that hobbyists who dress up in their favourite fictional/online animal can't possibly be getting any action - to be debunked !, many many times. I was a Tigger.

Someone always used to say that they secretly thought that I was a Furry. I have to say I find it all quite appealing.
