PM'd you with the link as it's not really of public interest.

Luckily I found a bunch of old "Chris Tarrant on Capital FM Breakfast" shows & I've been listening to those this week, I forgot how much I enjoyed Tarrant's show although I'm glad he had left by the time Moyles took over breakfast, I would have been flicking between the two otherwise.

I have personally found it a refreshing change from Moyles and his team, thought the lady GA GA bit was very funny.

The only downside of Mills is that he plays too many songs.

Maybe Chris can persuade Scott to let him have Becky just to freshen the morning show up?

Becky is absolutely * awful, it would be a travesty if she got on Moyles' show.

I think Becky has one saving grace though. She isn't Laura.

Agreed, I much prefer her to Laura.

I've quite enjoyed what I've heard of Scott's shows this week, having not made an effort to tune in to his afternoons for months. Although now that I'm returning to the gym, I may start listening to them again. Oh What's Occurring used to coincide with my walk there, and Dear Scott/Becki's Classifieds, my walk back.

Although I usually switch off when a prank call is made to some unsuspecting befuddled numpty - I accidentally caught a couple of Becky's. Once, she was phoning someone and putting on a posh voice which eventually broke down into a fit of trying-to-hold-it-together laughter. I think that was her finest hour and one of the funniest pranks I've ever heard.

Ah, the prank phone call - last desperate refuge of the truly unfunny. I can't believe that Mills is still flogging that one.

Ah Im guessing you prefer Chris Moyles's unique, revolutionary, never done before type of comedy?

Are you also assuming that I only dislike prank calls because/when Mills does them?
#400371
I usually hate prank calls and switch off immediately, but Becki's are different because she's so rubbish at them that the joke is always on her and never the recipient. That's what makes them funny.
#400373
When it's ringing up a takeaway to confuse someone whose first language isn't English then it's pointless exploitation. Similarly when someone's generally good nature is anonymously hijacked for amusement then it's also plain distasteful. However when the recipient/victim twigs and plays along then it can become something quite joyful and the power shifts away from the caller who now suddenly has to work double-hard to get even more comedy out of the situation. From memory that Becky vs. Fincham call did this.

Edit: fonejacker's baldy ducking-diver character was ace at this.

Hmmm. I hate fonejacker. Back when I had an office, with a desk, PC and a phone in it if anyone had ever tried anything like that with me it would have been a very short call - and unbroadcastable.

She sounds positively side splitting.

Didn't you even find Jon Culshaw's prank calls when he did impressions of people funny at all then?

No - I can't get past how its such an incosiderate thing to do to some probably stupidly busy person who is just trying to do their job. I'm not a fan of laughing at people who haven't offered themselves as public entertainment. Apart from Bradcali and Wireman of course.

Go Yuds, duck, dive, go for the ribs...!

I don't like prank calls either, but to me Culshaw was the exception. Many of the people he called found it funny anyway.
