Its disaster in the latest RAJAR audience figures.Moyles ha slost 700,000 listeners over thew past 3 months. This has to be the worst quarterly loss since he started doing breakfast. There will be real question marks over his future on the breakfast show Im afraid. . http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2009/oc ... ris-moyles Chris will be gutted

Someone take Bradcali's drama pills away from him!

I'll explain later why it's fine. It needs to be placed in context, mainly that 2.5 million of our 18 year olds and younger have school holidays. This happens every year.

Obviously not, as Aled has just said. Tit.

If you look at the Rajars since the show started, this pattern is repeated every single year. Its exactly the same as it always is.

I wouldnt worry to much, the show was very funny this morning.

Im always a big fan of visiting hardware shops for step ladders and toasters!

Everyone (myself included) seems to have overlooked Bradcali's overly sensationalist thread title - is this because it's all too common now? 700,000 nearly a million? It's not even three quarters of a million for *'s sake.
#400653
If it has Bradcali attached, we all sigh and assume the worst..... Sometimes, we're pleasantly supprised, often not so.

sorry Aled but its the press who are making a drama out of it as you can see.. http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard/ ... -months.do anyway last year Chris sounded like it was the end of the world when he only lost 700,.000 in the previous 2 quarters combined,so why are you so calm about losing the same amount in one quarter?. What Im worried abuo t is if certain BBC bosses are looking for an excuse to make 'changes' t his could be the excuse they needed.Meanwhile the press agenda to say Chris is 'past it' has been given a boost as early headlines show. Even the Times is bashing him ! http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/ ... 895245.ece

Slightly disappointing that there wasn't any mention of fork handles or bathroom plugs though.

Didn't they do the fork handles reference last time he was stood in front of that harware shop? I could be (and probably am) wrong, I'm not very awake at that time.

If I may, wouldn't it be better to call it a dip, rather than a loss - and even counter the stories in the press with the facts. People with an agenda might pick up on you saying you've done better and make out your trying to find an excuse.

Fact is, the audience declines when children are off school, but the audience recovers to it's previous levels when the school term resumes - the conclusion is, there's no story.

I must say I was a bit dissappointed that Chris didnt even m ention the figures on the show.He could at least have made a joke out of it instead of brushing it under the carpet. He ususally does. Why not this time? Not mentioning th em at all actually gives me the impression that hes a lot more worried than usual. And that worries me,as a loyal listener.iF he was to mention it on the show tomorrow, and make fun of it that would reassure me

You could well be right, you're not the only one who's not very awake at that time ;)

You know what? When even Aled says you're being over-dramatic when it comes to the show maybe it's time you reflected on your life bradcali.
#400703
maybe because the main story today was carrie being pregnant.

"Carrie's having a baby! In a similar vein, we've lost 700,000 listeners - but we can cut that to 699,999 in 4 months!"

nah. will probably mention tomorrow.
#400707
Well done to Carrie but they could have announced her pregnancy anytime in the past few weeks. Why today of all days? Good day to bury bad news perhaps? Or am I being overly cynical
