i like you. call me up on things more often. it's mainly to do with a majority of people posting once, then just leaving the site til cm.net is mentioned on radio one again.

I can understand it must be irritating, but I'll try not to be guilty of that.

I did find this place a long while ago after wondering where Longman had gone, but didn't really think I had anything to offer.

I probably still don't, but there's only one way to find out, I guess...

No its not. I think speculating on a subject as potentially fraught with problems as that, even when you are pretty certain what's actually going on (which realistically most people were), is intrusive and uneccessary. There is a greatly increased risk of something going wrong in the first three months of pregnancy, and then up to 20 weeks there are various tests any of which might reveal a problem which you really wouldn't want to be made public. That's why people in the "public eye" tend not to want their pregnancies discussed until most of that is over and done with, and they can be relatively secure in talking about it. Personally, I'd rather respect that than giggle about it.

As for new people - most of you are ok! We do get a few that are fair game though, and thus are reputations made.........

Yup, congratulations Carrie and Tom. Apparently my comment about them not being that desperate cos he's miles from her was a load of nonsense after all! Either that or he's a REALLY good shot.

It was more coming from the point of view that I've only read this thread in the knowledge that she is pregnant - so when someone's rebuked for saying "she looks pregnant" - when she actually was - raised a smile.

I thought the new poster who said "looks like she is" was taking the mickey, by posting a "guess" with the benefit of hindsight...

Rather than suggesting that the subject matter was a laughing matter, which wasn't my intention.

I agree with you Yuds, a friend of mine had a miscarriage during the first three months of her first pregnancy, I had more-or-less guessed she was anyway as she suddenly gave up smoking & drinking & then suddenly started smoking again & drinking. She told me several months later what had happened. Then late last year she gave up drinking & smoking again, I knew she had to be prgenant again but didn't want to say anything to her because of what happened with that first pregnancy and waited until she announced it. It's just common sense to be honest, plus the worst thing you can say to a woman who has put on a little bit of weight is "are you pregnant" when they're not.

Who was it who said that you never EVER assume a woman is pregnant unless you can actually see a baby coming out of her? Can't remember, but its good advice.

Got to be one of several at a guess I'd say either Joan Rivers, Ruby Wax or Jo Brand
