The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Vernon Kays agents have been approached abuot him taking over the breakfast show next July and it looks like hes interested, according to the Mail. This story has the ring of truth abuot it. A senior BBC radio boss has said 'Moyles reign as savior of radio one is coming to an end sooner rather than later' Looks to me like Chris has pretty much decided to give up radio for tv next year.Best of luck to him http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/ar ... n-Kay.html

Scott Mills to replace Moyles ? What has he to offer ? Not a lot ! !
The media is always going on about Moyles being to old for the flagship show on Radio 1, but isn't Mills the same age so how would that particular argument work ?
As for Ferne Cotton doing a great job :? What day was that then ? I've tried giving her a chance but to no avail. If anyone deserves praise Greg James does, he's come into he's own since been giving a top slot. I always come back to Radio 1 in the afternoons now. That's after switching off the mockney shrill that is the Ferne Cotton show that is.

Couldn't of said it better myself! It's as if he deliberately searches for news items saying moyles is leaving.

One question bradcali, Why join a fansite about the chris moyles show if you want him to leave so much?

Will someone please ban this tool. Everytime I come to this forum which is supposed to be a fansite there hardly ever any fan material. He is obviously here to start trouble and has no life but searching on the net for badly written articles written by idiots who don't listen to Chris Moyles and don't understand the show but think its ok to lie and inginite false rumors as long as it serves their purpose and try and get shows taken off the air just because they don't like them.

There's no-one good enough yet, the day the breakfast show changes hands, radio 1 will go back downhill to what it was 10 years ago. Everyone is too 'formulatic', if that's even a word

Fearne 'i've dreamed about having my own radio 1 show, but i went into TV because i was too crap to get on air and then i got famous and managed to wangle a slot' Cotton is boring, dull and irritating, Greg's good, but he was better when he first started, and Dev just has no chance!

First of all its a forum not a democracy.

Second, all you do is post links to other websites or articles and then follow with "OMG This doesn't look good for Chris Moyles does it!!!!???? I think this is then end!!" It's so pointless because you are proven wrong everytime.

It's never going to be Vernon, because everyone here likes him and everyone here is out of r1's target age range ( or nearly ). I expect that r1 is resigned to losing a ton of listeners when chris goes because we will likely stop listening. We'll more than likely follow chris wherever he goes but I don't think r1 cares, they want to get back to their "target audience" to keep the flack off them.

And unfortunately it will probably be within a year I think.

I'm going to go out on a very well populated limb here and say that Scott Mills will never be the permanent breakfast show host because Radio 1 bosses know it simply wouldn't work. If he was still the broadcaster he was years ago, when he did early breakfast, and when he first went to afternoons, then yes, but not now.

Given the current crop of 'available tallent' i'd say that'd be a fairly sound suggestion and much more suited to R1's aims than sticking Mills on there. Greg is an entertaining presenter and always keen to include his listeners. Maybe a couple of his features are typical of someone his age, but thats not to say they are wrong. I think that lad has a good future ahead of him, and would be a good bet to replace Chris, once R1 finally call time on a golden era. Whoever takes over from Chris is gonna have BIG (no weight gag intended) boots to fill. It could kill someones career if the wrong candidate is inserted into Chris' slot (fully intended here).

Yep look at Mark & Lard, it failed spectaculary. Luckily the afternoon show proved to be a success for them as 1997 could have been the last time we heard from the boys, nationwide at least.
