I'm afraid there's no Christmas Day show.

Our last day is Friday the 18th of December. There's no Christmas Day show but there will be the 12 hour Best of show on New Year's Day.

3 and a half hours a day is a bit much too. And i'm never really up.

Can't you just start your show at 8 and go til 11 - then with the extra 30 minutes over the 5 days , do 2 pre recorded 90 minute shows on saturday and sunday ?

Or i could listen on the iplayer when i get home from work to the opening 90 minutes. whatever.

I just have parents, bro and housemate to buy for, and I sometimes get something small for my aunt. I don't have any grandparents living, my extended family don't really buy for each other and I'm single (thank goodness, I used to spend a fortune on my ex). I tend to spend a fair bit on my little bro tho, I always feel compelled to spoil him. Treating him to a nice big tattoo this year :)

I don't care about how much or little a gift will cost me, I just don't like giving thoughtless gifts. I hate getting them too. As a result, I don't really get gifts for all the random family members who pop up at Christmas - I don't know them well enough to get them something appropriate, and to me, just giving someone a generic pressie, the kind of thing people buy five of so they have something to give the person they forgot about, is pointless and bordering on insulting. When I first got married I was horrified to realise that we were expected to exchange gifts with people we never saw or heard from from one year to the next, and I tried really hard to get things that would be well received. I shopped with some thought and feeling. We were given toiletries sets, scented candles, various "gift pack" type things - the kind of thing I am not the slightest bit interested in receiving, because it just underlines the pointlessness of this generalised gift-giving frenzy. If you don't know me well enough to get me something that you know I will like, don't get me anything at all. Because I won't be getting you anything, I wouldn't be so rude.

I have to give gifts to all of my lady's family as i know her sister's husband well, and am godfather to one of her nieces, and know 2 of her sisters (and her parents) really well, and they're a close family - meaning it would look like i'm playing favorites, and it would only lead to hostility (and the reality that i don't really like some of them). I just don't like looking cheap really...

except the vegans! Every year I get given at least one food item that I have to give or throw away. I still appreciate it cos it's the thought that counts, but it is a tad disappointing.
