So I've been compiling a playlist of songs from TV shows. Not necessarily the theme songs, just songs that have been used in shows (spanning all musical genres). Here's what I have so far:

The F Word - Babybird
Hooked On A Feeling - Blue Swede (from Ally McBeal)
Whole Lotta Love - Led Zeppelin (theme from Top Of The Pops, back in the day)
Make Your Own Kind Of Music - Mama Cass Elliott (from Lost - there are an absolute ton of songs used in Lost, but this is one of the most evocative, I think)
Suicide Is Painless - Manic Street Preachers (theme from MASH, albeit a cover version)
Half The World Away - Oasis (theme from The Royle Family)
Theme From South Park - Primus
Jessica - The Allman Brothers (theme from Top Gear)
Theme from King Of The Hill - The Refreshments
Funky Kingston - Toots & The Maytals (theme from Miami Ink)
Flagpole Sitta - Harvey Danger (theme from Peep Show)
Superman - Lazlo Bane (theme from Scrubs)
The Big Bang Theory Theme Song - Barenaked Ladies
Surfin' Bird - The Trashmen (from Family Guy)

Any more suggestions...?

Come on, you've missed an absolute classic-
The Chain - Fleetwood Mac
Thats the main one from the top of my head at the moment, I'll have a think.

Once In A Lifetime by The Talking Heads was used in the early seasons of Numbers.

Don't Stop Believing - Journey
Take A Bow - Rhianna
Poison - Bell Biv DeVoe
Taking Chances - Celine Dion
Maybe This Time - Cabaret
It's My Life - Bon Jovi
No Air - Jordin Sparks
Bust a Move - Young MC
Dancing with Myself - Generation X
Endless Love - Diana Ross and Lionel Richie

All from Glee, which is possibly my favourite new show this year.

Well, I've never seen Numbers or Glee so songs from them wouldn't have any resonance for me. A version of Dancing With Myself was used on season 1 of LA Ink, tho...

I know what it is before I even press play. And it is getting a bit too scripted for my liking. Looks good in HD though.

Yep, great example of what you don't see anymore on TV - 50 guitarists in the same studio together belting out the same riff - for a laff.

I would suggest Jace Everett - Bad Things. Easily the best thing about the show True Blood.

If I was to write a theme song for True Blood it would be called "Vampire Fatigue (tired of all this vampire stuff everywhere?)"

I don't know the Buffy theme - is it an actual song or just a piece of music? I can see the youtube links now tho, and I'd have got Jessica straightaway too, I LOVE the Allman Brothers. I'm a big Southern rock fan in general.

I think the Buffy theme is just music for the show, but it was done by a band called Nerf Herder if that helps.

Veronica Mars - good show.

Talking of Buffy, the songs in the season 6 episode 'Once More, with Feeling' has some good songs in it, as does, and I'm not sure if this should count as 'TV', Dr Horrible's Sing Along Blog (as well as it's commentary 'Commentary: The Musical').
