As mentioned on this mornings show Vernon will be in for Chris from Monday 30th November while Chris, Fearne & the Kilimanjaro group visit Uganda.

But on a slightly lighter note, Ms Cox will be standing in for Fearne. Saucy Northern Topheavy Temptress that she is....

I might listen to Radio 1 all the way through to 4pm now. Vernon with the team is a good listen, while anyone in for Fearne is an improvement. I like Greg James, but I haven't lasted long enough to listen to him recently.

Yay! I can't believe how much I like Sara Cox these days - I used to despise her.

When she did breakfast, I didnt like her. Maybe it's because I was young. Now I think she's brilliant. If she is ever on when I'm not expecting her to be, as soon as I hear her I think "COXYYYYY :D". She's so much better live aswell. When she recorded the show for Sundays it was pap and boring. Now she is doing it live again it's much more fun and relaxed.

I really like Coxy now, couldn't stand her on breakfast (Tarrant was the ultimate Breakfast show host back in the 90's & early 2000's so to me Coxy had no chance). However now I like her, a lot, she has a cheeky charm about her & is a lot of fun. Monday 30th will be a great day then, even if Chris is missing.

Personally I'd like the Radio 1 schedule to run as thus:

6:30am-10:00am - Chris Moyles
10:00am-1:00pm - Sara Cox
1:00pm-4:00pm - Greg James
4:00pm-7:00pm - Vernon Kay

Great stuff.

Being less posh, I would use the word thus :D But I kinda like the line up. Only thing i'd maybe swap is leaving Mills on the 4pm slot. I don't like him doing Chris' show, he's not the right guy for the breakfast show, but I don't mind PM Mills at all.

Big yeah for Coxy over Cotton though.

Completely agree, along with Zane, I'd be constantly listening to the radio. God love Fearne, but I think Sara's just brilliant. Must give Greg a listen onetime.

Plus, I love that VK calls Matt 'Pinch 'em Fincham!'

Genius.

Personally on schedules. I'd go for the following

06.30 - 10.00 Chris Moyles Show
10.00 - 12.15 sarah cox
12.15 - 12.30 newsbeat
12.30 - 15.00 greg James
15.00 - 17.00 scott Mills
17.00 - 19.00 vernon kay

I do like the scott mills show .

Why oh why do you lot fawn over Sara Cox?? She can barely string a sentence together without saying 'errrr'. They've pensioned off Jo Whiley and Edith Bowmen who are both way more talented than she is, how she gets to keep a job has been beyond me for years!
As for Vernon Kay 'standing in' for Chris Moyles - well frankly I hope it's permanent. I'm bored of hearing him start the show from a mobile phone in the back of his taxi - a taxi that was probably paid for out of the licence fee. It was amusing the first couple of times, now it simply smacks of being lazy and unprofessional. Seeing as he's making bucket loads of extra cash out of the weak TV show and a crap album that most people will have forgotten about by the second week of January, perhaps it's about time he bought a decent alarm clock. He's beginning to sound more like Chris Evans every week that goes by.

I think the opinions on Sara Cox are pretty evenly divided on here actually. There are plenty who can't abide her.

Opinions on her of Sara Cox (including mine) are considerably better than they used to be.

I agree about being late. The first few times were ok and funny but it is just pure taking the piss now, if you can't bebothered to show up on time for work then don't show up at all. Would you put up with it if it was someone who worked for you? No, they would get sacked. It is lazy and unprofessional.

Actually I agree about that too. Its too often to be ok, especially when he can quite unconcernedly say on air "sorry, I just couldn't get out of my pit this morning". That was really poor.

I like Sara Cox but don't really listen to her,I don't like Jo Whiley,I hate Edith Bowman.I think Chris should be cut a little slack,a telly show that finishes late,an album and the fact he's a night person and likes a few pints.I would struggle to make 6.30pm.

Then you'd either have to adjust your lifestyle or lose your job. No slack for not bothering to get up for work, not for anyone. Its bad.

The taxi thing is well documented Moyles himself has talked about it (and the 'quality' transport provided) which is part of working for the BBC in central London at that time in the morning. That I have no problem with however it does raise the question even more of how you can be late (barring traffic/weather etc) when you have transport laid on.

The recent recurrences of it combined with him talking about all these 'extra-ciricular activities' was always going to raise peoples hackles. Occasionally people are late for work which would only be tolerated by most employers a certain number of times before disciplinary action would follow and you'd expect that would apply to the BBC (especially being funded by the public) although of course this is between Chris and R1 management.

Hopefully post-Christmas this will be resolved and things will go back to normal but if it doesn't it only gives ammunition to those who wish to see a change.

If I was involved in tons of money spinning projects which I had been able to involve myself in purely because of my job, I don't care how much of my spare time they took up or how tired I got because of them - I would make damn sure that my JOB, which was, after all, the reason I could do all these other things in the first place, did not suffer in any way shape or form.

Yeah but I'm currently stuck behind the other 700,00 all queuing to get out! Thing is, I've listened to him for a long time and there are good bits and bad bits to every show. (Except Scott Mills - his whole show is dreadful but my lift to work insists on keeping him on) But of late I've got really bored with him, I don't reckon he cares anymore and is just repeating the same old crap every day. Yesterday I reckon he was very close to a proper on air row with Aled, it was not good radio. Of the present Radio 1 lineup Vernon Kay is the only one I'd want on instead of Chris - and to be truthful I'd rather Chris put some effort in and start producing a show with some original ideas in it.
