I agree with the posts that say that the dynamic isn't right when Vernon is in. I really like Vernon and his Saturday show is great but the mistake they make is, as others said, trying to carry things on as normal when it is anything but.
Dave tries to take a more significant role, as does Dominic, and Vernon himself is far too quiet compared to his Saturday show when he is really quite OTT, but in a good, entertaining way. It feels as if Dom and Dave don't really know him and are almost too polite.
I really didn't want to criticise this show, but I don't think it works like this. Vernon, as a stand in on his own would be brilliant, but to bring him in to directly replace Moyles in the exact same format isn't working. It was a great idea in principle, just not in practice.
