Moyles offending the old people. Good luck to him.

Thats why I like him, he's the radio rebel, upsets all the cosy darlings of broadcasting.

Compare and contrast with Media Guardian description of the very same speech at the very same event and you can clearly see which paper has got the anti-Moyles agenda..
The Radio 1 DJ, Chris Moyles, who has had a long-running rivalry with Wogan in the breakfast slot that has occasionally turned nasty, said it was probably the first time Wogan had ever heard him. "After saying that, Sarah Kennedy is on [Radio 2] before him so there's a good chance he might * tune in," Moyles added.
Of the secret of Wogan's success, Moyles said: "It's not what you do, it's you. That's the secret to it. It's a happier version of the real you, as many of you will know. It's very easy to listen to."
In a dedication which occasionally threatened to strike the wrong note – he began with "what a load of shit" – Moyles had fun at the expense of his fellow DJs and the Radio Academy, which presented Wogan with a glass bowl.
"Only the Radio Academy could put together a tribute of breakfast DJs who are on at the same time and have probably never listened to Terry to come on and say how amazing Terry is. Let's be honest: all they care about is their own shows and themselves and their own egos," he said.
"And only the Radio Academy could give Terry after all your brilliant years on Radio 1 and Radio 2 a piece of glass for you to put your keys and oranges in, and leave on a shelf for your family to look at from time to time and say, 'Is that all they gave you?'"
In a reference to the long-running breakfast ratings war that has seen Moyles finish a perennial runner-up to Wogan, the Radio 1 DJ added: "Finally we might be number one next year. Jesus Christ!"

"The British public has always confused longevity with merit. I'm much more popular now than I was 10 years ago, and 20 years ago they thought I was an eejit. If you hang around eventually a proportion of the British public will hold you in some affection," Wogan said.

I also saw a comment about pay cuts I'd forgotten some facts:

"I don't know what old Terry's been broadcasting to you easily outraged folk, but having listened to Chris Moyles everyday for the last 4 years I can say that Chris has only ever said anything negative about Wogan in gest.

I also find it worrying how you all seem to have missed that Chris' comments at the Radio Academy are obviously example of sarcasm. Seeing how Wogan listeners like to act like some kind of master race, looking down on the simple masses who listen to Moyles, I find it rather worrying that you all can't spot this.

By the way, sorry to shatter the illusion, but Terry isn't quite the gentleman you like to think he is. A couple of months ago Chris accepted a 25% pay cut without too much bother, good old Terry though didn't fancy earning 25% less then his already measly £800,000 per year salary, so quit! If Chris had done this he'd be ripped apart for being greedy, but not Terry though, you Togs wouldn't allow it"!

Cant say I disagree..Sarah Kennedy is a woefully poor listen. Bit of comedy tomorrow morning listening to the aftermath of this I would guess!!

Chris Moyles was at the centre of a bad taste row last night after he made foul-mouthed jibes about DJ Sarah Kennedy.
He launched into an expletive-strewn speech which mocked Miss Kennedy, who was in the audience at the lunch to mark Sir Terry Wogan stepping down from his Radio 2 breakfast show.
Moyles, whose Radio 1 morning show starts an hour before Wogan's and finishes after it, said: 'I am very nervous doing this because this is probably the first time Terry has ever heard me, ever.
'Actually, saying that Sarah Kennedy is on before him, [so] there's a good chance he might f****** tune in.' Moyles then pulled a face and appeared to do an impression of someone who was drunk.
Miss Kennedy has been criticised for slurring her words during her early-morning broadcasts - something she has put down to a bad cold.
After the ceremony, staged by the Radio Academy, Miss Kennedy, 59, was seen apparently wiping tears from her eyes.
When the Daily Mail approached her later, she claimed not to have heard the comments, adding: 'I am used to it, it is showbusiness.'
Until Moyles's appearance, the show had been an upbeat and warm celebration of Sir Terry's lengthy radio career.
Noel Edmonds, Tony Blackburn, Chris Tarrant and John Humphrys gave heartfelt and gently humorous tributes to the Radio 2 star, who had tears in his eyes.
But within seconds of taking to the stage Moyles had blurted out 'what a load of s***' before mocking the glass dish that was being awarded to Sir Terry for his services to the industry.
It was the unpleasant comments about Miss Kennedy that drew the most gasps. But Moyles also told the stunned audience: 'The Radio Academy put a tribute together of breakfast DJs who are on at the same time and probably never listen to each other to tell you how amazing Terry is and let's be honest, all they really care about is themselves, their own shows and their own egos

Moyles has been embroiled in several controversies during his time at Radio
1.
Earlier this year he was criticised for making a joke about Auschwitz. Last year he was forced to apologise for appearing to suggest on his show that Poles make good prostitutes.
Sir Terry's last programme is on December 18. He will host a new Sunday morning show from February 14.

Obviously didn't occur to the Heil that Sarah Kennedy could be wiping away a tear because she was sad to see Wogan go in the mornings & was going to miss him?

Oh and for the Heil to mention about Moyles making "a joke" about Auschwitz is rather ironic, coming from that paper.

*sigh*

HE DIDN'T MOCK AUSCHWITZ VICTIMS, HE MOCKED THE PEOPLE WHO GO TO AUSCHWITZ TO TRACE THEIR FAMILY TREE WHEN THEY HAVE NO * CONNECTION TO IT.

Thanks.

Sir Terence thanked Moyles effusively for his kind words this morning.

So I'm guessing the Mail might be slightly off the mark.

Or making things up.

Chris' interview with Alan Carr on 'Chatty Man' he put it best that's peoples interpretation of him is that as soon as the show starts at 6:30am he lets rip attacking and mocking people non stop till 10AM, when that's not the case, Daily Fail and Sun are worst newspapers ever.

Add "The People" to that as well, a vile paper that thankfully only comes out once a week (and even that's too many times a week)

I also love the way the story makes it out to believe that she was crying because of what Chris said about her. The daily fail talk to her afterwards and she denies she heard it so they jump to the conclusion they did....
I really wish Chris or some other star would sue a newspaper for the crap they write. I can't believe they are still going on about Chris "making a joke about Auschwitz" when he didn't. That would really annoy me if it was about me.

People sue newspapers regularly, but the amount they have to pay out doesn't dent the profits they make from sales. The best way to hurt a paper is to somehow cause a mass boycott of companies that advertise with them, but that'd never happen on a big scale.

When that awful woman wrote the defamatory article in The Mail about the death of Stephen Gateley there was a lot of talk that major advertisers were going to pull their space, but I don't think anything came of it. Topher's right, until something like that actually happens, we're stuck with arseholes writing bollocks. My solution is just not to get a newspaper at all, there are plenty of other media streams which don't feel the need to spin everything for scandal and shock.

Liek you Yudster I got bored of their scandal & spin, I don't buy a paper at all now, the only time I read one is when I get the free ones on the tube/BR (which is just the Metro & Evening Standard seeing as thelondonpaper & London Lite have bit the dust), even then they're half full of bollocks.

I suppose so :(
At least most newspapers will be gone in a few years. Why pay for crap when you can get good news, opinions and content free from the internet :D

Ah but not for long, apparently Google have realised that "it's wrong for hard working journalists articles to be read for free" or some bollocks like that when it comes to The Sun & The Times, so that's two papers we'll "have" to pay for online seeing as News International are so short of cash

Festering stink of the gutter press. Carol Malone, your crown is stolen, and thats saying something, pair of old hags.

Moyles had this to say:
"Shame she didn't check her facts before spouting her pre-judged opinions. It's my opinion that she has a face like a crow "
