I must admit I think its strange. I like Pink, but it seems incongruous at the very least.

I don't think breakfast is the time to devote an hour to any one artist. It seems to me that that's what evening programming and/or more 'specialist' stations are for. I heard most of the fawning interview (no change there to be fair) and switched off when the actual gig started.

I listened to the gig in the office. It was good stuff, but I agree it would be more suited to the evening. They wouldn't have to worry much about censorship then either.

Chris Moyles devotes an hour of his show to play live highlights from a show of an artist that Chris Moyles really likes.

Seriously, this seems strange?

Apart from "because the Radio 1 bosses said you had to" I can't really. Not that I think that's a bad reason, we all have to do what our bosses tell us don't we?! But I thought when it was announced that it might not be the best way to spend a big chunk of the programme, and to be honest I think I was right, it just felt like a long advert for Pink (who I like, but even so). I thought it might be a bit boring, and I think it was really.

I'm sure there was a "good" reason though Al, so what was it?

Pink is target audience for Radio 1, rival stations don't tend to do similar things so it's a bit "unique", Pink has tour dates next year to promote, the team went to the show last night also.

Or maybe there was a lack of material for the show? (joke)

I like Pink and she doesn't get a whole amount of exposure like Take That etc. Am I even close with these reasons?

Oh my god, I've just realised why!

Pink is going to replace Carrie when she goes on maternity leave! :-o

I'd be interested to know how many regular listeners switched off, as I did. There's no way to measure that really tho. I'm sure there is a reason for it, but it doesn't change the fact that I don't like having to turn off Moyles - I felt cheated of an hour of the show. Oh well, let's just hope it doesn't become a regular occurence.

Exactly. Please don't do it again.

I enjoy the interviews when Pink's on the show, but I don't like her music - I know lots of people do, so it's not a complaint.

I'm not sure of the reasons it was done either? I just assumed it was to acknowledge her tour.

Is it more subtle than that, or have I missed a big news / entertainment story?

I'd have personally preferred David Grohl to have been back in the studio for a couple of hours or an hour of a Foo Fighters gig :)

Maybe because it was Access All Areas? So Pink was in and we were 'accessing' her tour.

That's all I got!

That crossed my mind while I was brushing my teeth this morning (I put a lot of thought into making posts you see).

Maybe they all had to leave early and the hour of the tour was a convenient cover?

I know, it's because it's a better option than 1 hour devoted to Chris Brown. I mean, which would you rather have?
