They didn't get the joke, that Dave said it was.

The insinuation being that it was the last show ever.

The fact Chris said he was coming back to record jingles till 9, before going to shed 7, kind of knocks that into a * hat.

I don't think Chris even knows when the show is ending. He said in his interview with news of the world that he would do it for 10 years, if he could.
