Bloody hell, it's frightening that someone that mentally disturbed got access to weapons like that, then again this did happen in America.

Apparently he was mentally disturbed. There are many stories about why he did it ranging from him believing that Pantera were stealing his thoughts to him saying they'd stolen songs he'd written.
