Hopefully I'm not the only one who was confused by this...

Did they ever explain on air what they were doing? I can only assume that they'd got an impersonator in - but if they'd got Culshaw I would have expected them to actually talk to him as Jon as well.

At first I thought they'd got him on tape, but then when he mentioned his favourite soup that dispelled the recording theory.


Anyone got any clues?

it was most probably jon culshaw.

It was a gag that they didn't want to spoil. And for avid fans. Would probably of guessed straight away that it was jon.

I believe that Culshaw has appeared on the show before via an impression & they haven't revealed it's him, it may have been Ozzy Obsourne, although I can't fully remember (it was about 6-7 years ago mind on the afternoon show)

Unless the soup thing was already planned and they had him come in earlier in the week, or maybe it was over ISDN, there could be many possibilities.. But i found it funny and it was a nice surprise

Wasn't over IDSN, as Chris Evans said Wogan was in France at the time and wasn't listening to the Radio 2 Breakfast show so he definatly wouldn't have been live on Moyles' show.

I was responding to the previous post by 'Johnnikins' suggesting maybe Wogan was on IDSN, pointing out this was not possible. Sarcasm is unnecessary.

Ah fair enough, could have been him on IDSN. Though he did give the impression he had walked into the studio in person at one point, so if it was they pulled it off well. Ether way it was a funny addition to the show.
