Wishing you all the best squeezing a melon through a hole the size of a grape....! Hope all goes well for the three of you.

We'll miss you lots, your posh-dirt contribution to the show.

Hurry back!

All the best to Carrie, I hope she does keep in touch with the show every so often (always though it was a shame that Juliette never kept in touch with them, on air at least), I'll have to give this one a listen when I get in :)

I shall be aiming to edit this show over the weekend & hopefully have it up (with several others) over the weekend (I'm going to attempt to set up my wireless on my laptop, I take it it's not that difficult). :)

Just listening to today's show for the first time... It's only a radio show, but I think this is an insight into what it'll be when the whole thing finishes. Hopefully that's a long way away, but the clips they played actually brought a slight lump to my throat. Millions of people have lived with these guys in their lives, through births and deaths, marriages and divorces, good and bad times. I’m gonna miss them when they go.

Or perhaps the whole thing was, as they just suggested, self-indulgent tosh.

Good luck Carrie! Although you should really support your local football team.

although i do wish carrie all the best. And i shall listen back when i get in from work. And look forward to johnny's show as well.

There is one main thing that we are forgetting.

Carrie leaving for maternity leave may not be the last of her. Unless carrie has said in todays show. She has the option to return to the show when she finnishes maternity leave. It all depends obviously if
1. Carrie wants to come back or if she wants to be a full time mum.
2. If chris extends his contract to carry on breakfast.

Thanks for all the great moments Carrie! Carrie has provided many funny moments over the years and will be missed. It was a very emotional show, good luck and god bless. :D

I was crying this morning, poor Carrie. She will be missed!

I was wondering though I was away last week, did Chris make any reference to whats been in the papers about Vernon? Does anyone know what day ond what time so I can listen again.....

Tom is off to Afghanistan with the forces was mentioned on todays show . Carrie has upto a year to decide if she wishes to return to her job so we will see, she could return but a year is a long time and things can and probably will change.

It was a great, but sad show. Also sad is that Carrie will be without her hubby for a long while shortly after the baby's born, which I didn't know until they played his message today. I'm sure she'll have plenty of support, but it must be hard.

Loved the message from Nana too. :)

I'm glad she's gone......not because I don't like her (I mean I definately would!! :D )

But I think she has suffered enough, everyone remember Wimbledon during the summer? :D :D :D

Best of luck to her and I hope Tom keeps his head down in A'stan

What a show. The only people who think it was "self indulgent tosh" are people who don't love and understand the show like we do. I must admit that even as a 33 year old bloke I was choked as she was reading her final sports news.

I admit to taking a while to warm to Carrie but over the last couple of years I really liked her and felt that she found her place on the show and blended in superbly. I agree with the other poster who said that this gives us an idea what it will be like when the whole thing comes to an end, and I really don't like that thought. I love my three and a half hours of Moyles and the show every day and will be lost without it.

Anyway, all the best to Carrie and I really do hope she keeps in touch with the show (of course she will with the gang) and I look forward to hearing how she is gtting on.

Ah so it seems that Carrie's leaving show was better than Melinda, Will's & Juliette's then (can't comment on Rhys' last afternoon or breakfast show & Lizzie's as I never caught them & no one seems to have anything of them baring the last link). In the process of downloading it now, will edit it tonight, and hopefully (if the wireless works or I can get this PC to play ball tonight) it will be up :)

EDIT: Amazingly I didn't need to do any editing of today's show until 44 minutes in. I've kept in Carrie's parody near the beginning seeing as it's her last appearance & probably won't be played again.

Just finished editing Carrie's last show, I'll get it up into the archive as soon as I can, I shall also be editing & uploading Tina's first show as soon as I can. As far as I can remember I think the only "first show" is for Rachel on the Afternoon Show & also Lizzie although she doesn't appear on air at all, she's just mentioned.

Have to say, listening back, that it was really rather sad, much sadder than Juliette's, mainly as I didn't really listen to the show that often back then. When Captain Underpants message was played, I felt my eyes welling up a bit then, rather unusually.

i know chris is a professional. But how does he and dave both be able to not get emotional. Not 1 person can truthfully say they were not emotional after that show.

I'd imagine off mic they probably both were, if you remember Chris did have a little cry when he reached the top of Kilimanjaro, can't speak for Dave though.

To be fair to them quite a few people who were part of the show have left over the past 12-14 years:

Simon Barnet
Jude Adam
Ben Cooper (although now one of his bosses)
"Baldie" Greg Young
Simon "Melinda" Hollis
Richard "Count Drunkula" Murdoch
Jon Culshaw
"Thin" Lizzie Suzette Buckingham
Will "Grey Head" Kinder (although semi-returned for the videoed shows)
Juliette Ferrington
Fergus Dudley (wasn't he Exec Producer before Rhys?)
Rhys Hughes (twice)
Natasha Lynch
Jocelin Stainer
Carrie Prideux

And from Newsbeat, considering these were all regular presenters during the afternoon show:
Claire Kavaner
Carolyn Atkinson
Georgina Bowman

So I'd imagine they're quite used to it now & can control their emotions on air, speculating of course :)

Hear hear Johnny,

*sigh*

I think there was more emotion in the Juliette show - thats despite the fact I can hardly believe I can remember it, nor that they have ever referred to her ever since it seems. It's just great radio, I was only likely to feel emotional after the 9:30 news, that montage was great, ending with the new jingle, which already has a 'reaching the summit' feel to it, I love it.

It's not deadlock on X Factor for Christs sake, cringeworthy though that would be! I'm just happy for her, she's not been evicted/eliminated from the competition etc.

It's funny I was listening back to Juliette's last show & although there was less crying by Juliette on her last show compared to Carrie, Chris & Dave do seem more emotional there than they do here. As I say they've had so many people leave over the years, several since they moved to breakfast, that they can probably control their crying on air but not off air, if you get what I mean.

She better not be replaced by Matt (the guy with the annoying voice!) Seriously cant stand the guy (no offence matt if your reading this :-o )

Anyone think they will bring someone else in gradually? Or just leave the team as it is?
