Just listening to today's show for the first time... It's only a radio show, but I think this is an insight into what it'll be when the whole thing finishes. Hopefully that's a long way away, but the clips they played actually brought a slight lump to my throat. Millions of people have lived with these guys in their lives, through births and deaths, marriages and divorces, good and bad times. I’m gonna miss them when they go.

Or perhaps the whole thing was, as they just suggested, self-indulgent tosh.

Carrie leaving for maternity leave may not be the last of her. Unless carrie has said in todays show. She has the option to return to the show when she finnishes maternity leave. It all depends obviously if
1. Carrie wants to come back or if she wants to be a full time mum.
2. If chris extends his contract to carry on breakfast.

Tom is off to Afghanistan with the forces was mentioned on todays show . Carrie has upto a year to decide if she wishes to return to her job so we will see, she could return but a year is a long time and things can and probably will change.

It was a great, but sad show. Also sad is that Carrie will be without her hubby for a long while shortly after the baby's born, which I didn't know until they played his message today. I'm sure she'll have plenty of support, but it must be hard.

What a show. The only people who think it was "self indulgent tosh" are people who don't love and understand the show like we do. I must admit that even as a 33 year old bloke I was choked as she was reading her final sports news.

I admit to taking a while to warm to Carrie but over the last couple of years I really liked her and felt that she found her place on the show and blended in superbly. I agree with the other poster who said that this gives us an idea what it will be like when the whole thing comes to an end, and I really don't like that thought. I love my three and a half hours of Moyles and the show every day and will be lost without it.

Anyway, all the best to Carrie and I really do hope she keeps in touch with the show (of course she will with the gang) and I look forward to hearing how she is gtting on.

Ah so it seems that Carrie's leaving show was better than Melinda, Will's & Juliette's then (can't comment on Rhys' last afternoon or breakfast show & Lizzie's as I never caught them & no one seems to have anything of them baring the last link). In the process of downloading it now, will edit it tonight, and hopefully (if the wireless works or I can get this PC to play ball tonight) it will be up

EDIT: Amazingly I didn't need to do any editing of today's show until 44 minutes in. I've kept in Carrie's parody near the beginning seeing as it's her last appearance & probably won't be played again.

Just finished editing Carrie's last show, I'll get it up into the archive as soon as I can, I shall also be editing & uploading Tina's first show as soon as I can. As far as I can remember I think the only "first show" is for Rachel on the Afternoon Show & also Lizzie although she doesn't appear on air at all, she's just mentioned.

Have to say, listening back, that it was really rather sad, much sadder than Juliette's, mainly as I didn't really listen to the show that often back then. When Captain Underpants message was played, I felt my eyes welling up a bit then, rather unusually.

I'd imagine off mic they probably both were, if you remember Chris did have a little cry when he reached the top of Kilimanjaro, can't speak for Dave though.

I think there was more emotion in the Juliette show - thats despite the fact I can hardly believe I can remember it, nor that they have ever referred to her ever since it seems. It's just great radio, I was only likely to feel emotional after the 9:30 news, that montage was great, ending with the new jingle, which already has a 'reaching the summit' feel to it, I love it.

It's not deadlock on X Factor for Christs sake, cringeworthy though that would be! I'm just happy for her, she's not been evicted/eliminated from the competition etc.

It's funny I was listening back to Juliette's last show & although there was less crying by Juliette on her last show compared to Carrie, Chris & Dave do seem more emotional there than they do here. As I say they've had so many people leave over the years, several since they moved to breakfast, that they can probably control their crying on air but not off air, if you get what I mean.
