Nice comeback.

Who is supporting him? he is quite loathsome.

I know what he did before he got famous, first he did the bizarre column in the Sun,then he edited the News Of The World and then the Daily Mirror.
He also sucks up to the Labour party and is a first class name dropper.

What else do you want to know?

And.........? Bet she's better looking than your missus!

All this abuse coming from someone who gave big speaches about leaving here as we are beneath him.... Yet can't seem to actually * off. No one here has any interest in your thoughts, opinions or mindless insults - which most people grow out in their teenage years.

"Your a twat" is not a constructive argument. You continually remind us how young and immature (or plain old thick) you are. Didn't you mummy tell you 'if you aint got nothing nice to say - shut the * up'?

So many things to put you right on her Dim.

1) No one is beneath me and I have never said that.

2) Have I ever mentioned my age? Im 42 for the record.

3) My opinions obvioulsy bother you because you always reply.

4) My Mum did teach me that but are you following the same message because you arent being nice to me (sob sob!!)

and 5) My wife is a gorgeous thank you very much.

No - for the third time, he is a *. The fact that he has made his fortune out of other peoples suffering is more or less WHY he is a *.[/quote]

I try not to pay attention to irritating people whos opinions neither bother me or concern me.

How exactly did conspiring to produce faked photographs of troops abusing Iraqi nationals, swearing blind that they were genuine, printing them on his front page, dragging innocent British troops' names through the mud, lying about what he had done, finally admitting that they were fake but claiming he knew nothing about it, then finally having to come clean about his part in it whilst STILL trying to justify his seamy, sordid, grotesque little self in the whole process and at no point apologising in any way to the individuals whose lives and careers he had ruined in his attempt to smear the entire British Army with the shit he alone created - and at the end of the day somehow managing to keep his tawdry, pathetic little job - how is that opposing the illegal war? How?

Tit.

When exactly did he admit he knew the pics were fake, whats your source on that? And which job did he keep? And are you calling me a tit for expressing an opinion?

At the time - although at the last possible minute. Its on the record.
He eventually did "leave" his job as Editor, although he was never officially required to. I hope he was in reality though.
Yes. Opinions say an awful lot about the holder.

Anteater73 is supporting him which is why the question is directed at him and not you.

The version I remember hearing at the time was that he was sacked for refusing to apologise (and the following day they printed an apology), although apology or not he should have been sacked anyway.

There was the thing with their financial tipster's column as well - where he bought shares in a company a couple of days before they printed a recommendation to buy; they were sacked and he was found to have breached the PCC's code of conduct (not that that carries any weight whatsoever), but kept his job.

He's one of the most repulsive, disgusting shitstains on the planet.

I'd imagine off mic they probably both were, if you remember Chris did have a little cry when he reached the top of Kilimanjaro, can't speak for Dave though.

To be fair to them quite a few people who were part of the show have left over the past 12-14 years:

Simon Barnet
Jude Adam
Ben Cooper (although now one of his bosses)
"Baldie" Greg Young
Simon "Melinda" Hollis
Richard "Count Drunkula" Murdoch
Jon Culshaw
"Thin" Lizzie Suzette Buckingham
Will "Grey Head" Kinder (although semi-returned for the videoed shows)
Juliette Ferrington
Fergus Dudley (wasn't he Exec Producer before Rhys?)
Rhys Hughes (twice)
Natasha Lynch
Jocelin Stainer
Carrie Prideux

And from Newsbeat, considering these were all regular presenters during the afternoon show:
Claire Kavaner
Carolyn Atkinson
Georgina Bowman

So I'd imagine they're quite used to it now & can control their emotions on air, speculating of course :)

To be fair out of all of those only Claire Bradley & Matt Williams regularly appeared.

Also one other thing thanks for the spelling correction (could never get her name correct), however it's Linley Gooden & not Finley Goodans.

Where the link goes nobody knows! Just as a footnote the Piers Morgan thing is not as black and white as people think but maybe this isn't the right forum to discuss it.

Please feel free to explain what you mean. This forum has never been known for staying on topic so don't worry about throwing a discussion off thread.

Don't get me wrong - I have strong feelings on this fellow. There are not many "celebs" I have strong feelings on, but he is one of the few. That doesn't mean that I wont respect your opinion if it disagrees with mine. I will, however, argue with it.

Out of the people on that list I miss Thin Lizzie and Juliette Ferrington, Too be really really honest I always prefered the afternoon show, for me personally they were better days for Radio 1, no Fearne Cotton for a start the WORST female ever to present a show on Radio 1, FACT

She's waaaay better than Max. I have to admit I have never minded her, but from what I've heard her morning show is falling on its arse. She does seem well out of her depth. But she's still infinitely preferable to Max.

Liked Juliette (from what little I heard of her) and Thin Lizzie was great, Chris really did get away with a lot of things she said to her, mainly because 99% of the time she laughed at what he said to her.

I enjoy the Breakfast Show a lot, however listening back to a load of these Afternoon Shows kind of reminds me how great the afternoon show was (particularly in 2001) Chris & Dave with Will & Melinda/Lizzie was a golden era of the show for me :)

For those that are interested, Carrie's last show is now available in the Chris Moyles and Mark & Lard Archive (follow the link in my sig) for you all to download, along with several other vintage shows, with one going back as far as 1996.

Also for a contrast & compare, Melinda's last show will be up later tonight :)

 The shows I put up last night had already been edited, so it was just a case of them uploading to Internet Archive plus I had been out last night & got in later than planned. 2-3 of today's I had edited previously & didn't get round to uploading last night. I'm only editing three tonight, all but one should be up although the last one may not be, depends on how long it takes me :)
