The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

I got a text read out when that annoying cow was on during the "exam results" bit they do each year.

"ooohh, I'm hoping to go to (x, y or z polytechnic). It'll be so random, OMG OMG"

two days later

"oooohhh, I didn't get the grades, but it's still random OMG OMG"

I text in and advised her that she might want to get a frigging job, instead of mooning around and wasting her parents money on a course she's never going to do anything with.

She said "I bet he works in a toothpaste factory."

No love I don't, but hopefully you will soon. OMG random LOL OMG etc ad nauseum.

None, but then I very rarely text in. I usually only hear the first 5mins or so before I reach work and then I listen to the rest of it on the iplayer over the weekend.

Wait a minute todays Golden Hour (26th Feb) was'nt the year 2000 with the tracks of Foo Fighters and Groove Jet played only around 5 to 6 weeks ago, and now Oasis. I mean come on this is ridculas, time to put this feature to rest I getting fed of this Im starting to switch off or listen elsewhere till 9.30 because its getting more and more repetitive, I am right or not? We need more years played before 1989 or just stop!

Oh, really? YOU'RE getting fed up with this so it must stop? Wow, ok, I'll send a telegram to the head of BBC to inform them.
We know that they can't do a golden hour for anything before 1989 because it takes it out of the target age range. This isn't Chris or any of the teams decision.

Sigh.

I never said it was Chris or the teams fault, I know its not, the thing is as Latina said te MJ track from 1983, excellent choice, so why not the first half hour, target range crap is poor excuse, fine Zoot if you like it and easily pleased, good for you. Oh yeah send the telegram by days end if you could, cheers.

It might be a crap excuse (and to be honest, I very much agree with you, I'd love some older stuff) but it is THE official excuse they've given. Yea, they can play the odd song before '89, but I guess they think half an hour of nothing but 20+ year old stuff is too much

Bloody hell you must slit your wrists every time a current day track gets played ;)

To be honest I'd rather they did the 80's for a change but it's there policy at the moment not to so nothing is going to change. However others enjoy the feture so why shoudl it be taken off just because you don't like it?

In all honesty, when I was more within the target audience back in the 90s and listening to the Golden Hour/Mystery Years, I don't remember having a particular longing for the 70s. Even though I did appreciate music from that time (and before) since a young age, the 80s seemed adequately far back for me at the time.

It's sad, but it's the just the way it goes. :?

Ideally, I think it should be any year the team want. Or maybe any year since Radio 1 has been in existence.

But if they must play music, I'd much rather it be the current golden hour choice-set than scrapping it and having more of the rubbish that's fashionable now (save a few exceptions).

I'm not sure Dom's last choice of 2009 was in target, but it *was* ace.

Standard text charge, don't be such a bloody misery.... :D

I'm not being a misery, it's just not something I understand. Moyles receives thousands of texts per day, the chances of yours being read out are tiny. And when they do things like "text 'dave is a twat' to 81199" - don't get me wrong, it's funny, but I can't see why people do it!

To be fair I only did it once & it was just by chance they read it out, wouldn't expect them to otherwise in all honesty & I don't make a habit of it at all.

I did sort of get a very loose mention on Monday regarding the "Our Dom" bit from The One Show although not by name.

I guess people do it cos it's nice to feel involved with the show. There have been a couple of times when I've been swept away with the mood and done it myself. Only about twice though, as it is ultimately a waste of money.
