Why am I not surprised that some are judging her on her first show, let's give her a chance first shall we, she needs at least a month to settle in, after all look how long it took before the majority of the audience took to Carrie.

By the way I agree with Travis Bickle :)

'It'? I'm all in favour of admiring attractive women, but could you at least afford her the status of a human being?

True but sometimes whether it be the phrasing in the script or the pronunciation even...the lack of knowledge can show through and irritate hardcore fans but then the majority of audience probably wouldn't care. Personally it irritates me more on when I hear someone on talkSPORT/5 Live clearly not have a clue about a particular sport and of course the Winter Olympics gives plenty of opportunity for that!

As I said earlier though this is an entertainment show and whilst obviously an interest in sport was important I assume a much bigger part of the selection process involved picking someone who will 'fit in'. Much like the kielbasa bit in Private Parts (the Howard Stern movie) when Robin gets fired a completely 'straight' news/sport reader wouldn't work.

Well, to an extent she needs more than layman's knowledge, because she not only has to read the sport, she has to compile and write the bulletins too. But yes, encyclopaedic knowledge would be too much to ask!

She immediately seemed ultra-confident on her taster show and was drawn to her, however it has now fallen and she doesn't seem to make the same impact as Carrie. Although i feel her appointment may have been influenced due to a lack of diversity in the team as it was .

She's got to settle in first off, give it a month or so & she'll be fine. Have to say that I totally disagree with your last sentence though.

I think a lot of you have forgotten what Carrie was like in her first couple of years on the show. She wasnt involved a lot and when she did say something it was forced and awkward. Granted, in recent years she was good and found her place in the team, but for ages she was rubbish.

In all fairness Carrie was rubbish from the day she started till the day she left.

Give the new girl a chance.

carrie may at first of been rubbish. but look what she did in the last few. just to name a few. carrie on footballers. carrie on camping. wimbledon 09. british grand prix.

other than the cereal box game. has tina done anything else yet??? other than read news.

her confidence and * nature is good material for chris to feed off, and mock.

give it a few months and she'll have done something to endear the audience i think - also she's a gooner which is nothing but good news : more Arsenal player interviews hopefully...i miss Fabregas and Only gay in the Village.

She's still a bit too "stage school" for me. She'll get there though.
