From last mondays interview with Scott Mills. What was the Duncan James incident they can't talk about? Or was it just meant as a joke?

I have a question, why does every "scandal" have to have a gate attached to it?

How else would get in or out?

On the offchance that this was in fact a serious question, its a reference to the Watergate scandal which involved USA President Nixon back in the seventies (sixties?). Watergate was the name of a place associated with it - I don't know the details, but you can google it if you want. But the name Watergate became attached to the scandal, and since then every scandal seems to have been "something-gate".

Personally I prefer the duck's explanation though.

No it wasn't a serious question :)

It just gets very boring when the media call every scandal "something-gate", however I forget the majority of our newspapers are full of lazy journalism, so I shouldn't be suprised really. Although as Devil's Duck said, they'd may need it to get in & out of it. :)

Good. But at least it gave me the opportunity to demonstrate that I have no understanding of recent American political history.

The Watergate scandal should be renamed the Watergategate scandal to conform.
