I have been a bit slow on the uptake about this, but Rachel finally being promoted to Executive Producer is great news, well deserved and long overdue. I've never understood why they BBC seemed so determined to not give her the opportunity, she should have had it ages ago - but better late than never.

Aled will be staying as Show Producer, Sam steps up to Day Producer and thankfully Matt Fincham will not be promoted as a result of the changes, he is staying as Assistant Producer. I suppose demotion for him was too much to ask..........

Anyway, well done Rachel, you'll do a fantastic job.

When did they announce that? I must have missed that bit.

Well done Rachel anyway!

Well I didn't hear the announcement myself, but Aled posted something on aled.info which implied that it should be common knowledge by now, and expressing surprise that no one had mentioned it on the site!

Does that mean we won't hear from her much now, do you think? Will she just become Executive Producer Rach, because that would be a shame.

Either way, congratulations to her!

Well done Rachel, all that corporate driven guidance has paid off. A well deserved promotion.

Will miss hearing her delicate tones on the airwaves. If it gets too much i'll pop a call in to the B'Ham site office. (I know Rach, your not a brummie!)

Congratulations to Rachel!

If this means we won't be hearing her on the show anymore, surely she deserves more of a send-off than the occasional off-hand references I've been hearing. Or did I miss something? :?

Congratulation Rachel :) Who's Sam?

I think the reason we rarley hear from Piers is that he is Exec. Producer on many shows. Presumably Rachel will still only be working on Moyles' show.

It has been mentioned on yesterdays show and todays. Rachel is 'leaving' for three months to do Piers job, she will move desk to his too, not sure where he is going (?)

And then it will be back to normal, so I would assume? They wouldn't let Rachel go without a proper goodbye.

Will be interesting to see if we hear Sam...

Sam and Tina - it's all change.

Interesting didn't realise she had been promoted, however it's well deserved, I remember when she was BA (Broadcast Assistant) on the Saturday Show, she was a lot more relaxed and less corporate then, although so were Melinda (who got a mention today) and Lizzie.

Congrats Rachel.

Didn't know anyhing about it. I only listen till 8.45am so must have been mentioned in the last hour. I'm glad she's not on all the time. I've said this before but i do prefer Aled. Especially when he doesn't get jokes n stuff.

Why do you congratulate someone and then follow it with a negative? If you have said it else where on the board then we don't need to read it again, certainly not on a thread that it meant to be congratulating the person on a career success.

Congratulations Rachel.

That's the new Day Producer.

Oh, and well done Rachel on your temporary - for now - promotion.

Correction:

* Accent > Brummie Accent > Glaswegian Accent :-P

Kudos, the Glaswegian accent is definately the best for swearing (see Rab C Nesbit) :)
