The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Shame to hear that Greg James has become irritating, I'll be honest that I haven't had chance to listen to him for ages.

Shamless Plug Alert: I'll do me best to edit as many classic shows as I can over the next couple of weeks so that those of you that want your fix of Moyles have something to listen to at least :)

I've rather liked Greg, although I haven't listened to him in a while

Thanks Johnny, I will look forward to it. When the team goes on vacations, I usually go through my hard drive looking for old guest interviews or podcasts that I've downloaded. Some best bits of past shows would be appreciated, both to entertain and to save to listen to again down the road when another vacation happens or when I go on vacation.

Well so far. He does remind me though of what Scott used to be like before he got all precious and creepy, and he has always been seen as a bit of a Mills Type broadcaster. Hopefully he will develop his own style and not be content to be a Mills-A-Like (or an anything else a-like come to that), in which case I can see him as a future Breakfast presenter. He is more than qualified to cover breakfast when Chris is off though. He's a lot better than Mills, and do you remember when Nihal did it? Bloody hell, if they thought that was acceptable, then Gregg James HAS to be on the list of possibles.

Well they've realised good enough to cover Mills even when he has his own show - thank God, I thought we were going to be stuck with Dev

Dev has become just about bearable for the half hour or so that I hear him in the mornings - and bearing in mind where he started, "just about bearable" represents a huge leap for him. But as far as him covering Mills - well personally I don't find him any worse. No better either. The benefit of Gregg James covering the Mills show is that I can put Radio 1 on in the afternoons for a change, not that I can continue to listen!

I still think Dev is awful.

It's a shame Simon Mayo is away this week, I switched to Five Live yesterday.

What's everyone views on Matt Edmonson? I think he's rather good

I discovered to my horror that the BBC don't actually cater for my age group. I'm beyond the target audience of Radio 1 which is why it's annoying me more and more these days. But it appears from trying it out these last few days that I'm also too young for Radio 2. Don't get me wrong, I like some of the music on there, but it's one after the other. It's still too "dad music" for my liking. Therefore, must be too young for it.

Actually, it appears to me that Radio 2 is growing older with it's core audience while Radio 1 is sitting still and refusing to budge, bringing in the new audience and letting the older ones drift off. Sadly being one of those older ones I'm rapidly finding I've nowhere else to go.

Where's Radio 1.5 when you need it?!

Depends what show you listen to on Radio 2 though, I thoroughly recommend Simon Mayo and Radcliffe and Maconie. Chris Evans, which is presumably who you've tried out in the absence of Moyles, I find is fine, but not a patch on Moyles.

I really really don't want to hear this.........

I agree Mayo and Radcliffe & Maconie are excellent and not DJ's on Radio 2 that can be classed "for Dad's". I'd say 6 Music probably comes under "your age range" (I * hate all this age range bollocks by the way) Munki, however that all depends if you like the music on there or not, or if you own a DAB radio or not (if you don't like listening to the radio on line that is.

So in other words, the station for my age range is getting shut down. Fantastic.

Topher, you're right, I've only really heard Evans in the morning and Steve Wright going home. Mayo appears to be missing this week as well.

Yep the station considered in your age range is being closed down, although apparently we need a Radio 4 Extra according to that idiot director general, bring back Greg Dyke I say! ;)

Yeah, it's Richard Madeley instead, so I'm not listening.
