I don't post very often at all however I wanted to say well done and congratulations to the team for what must have been logistical nightmare to organise the show down the wire. I thought Aled did really well, that is alot of buttons to press!

Just as a sidenote, Radio 2 presenters Steve Wright and Paul O'Grady have both been replaced this week. Stuart Maconie is also AWOL.

Thank god for ISDN!

Was I dreaming or did I not hear Stuart Maconie on his show last night? I know he did a pre-record with Charlie Brooker on his own, but I swear he was in with Mark Radcliffe too; mind you, I only heard for a very short time.

But yes, a great job.

He is definately abroad, so maybe a pre-record?

Yeah, t'was a great effort all round. Was so pleased to hear Chris 1st thing this morning instead of Scott. Nice to have the usual 'half hour mic check' opening link, not the straight into a song thing that Scott does.

Did feel for Aled a few times, all those buttons to press, shows how seemless Chris makes it all sound!

Well done to everyone!

The music was appalling this morning until I switched off at 8:45 (other than Florence and KOL)

Great show this morning!

I'm in NY and usually listen on listen again or sirius. Last night I stayed up to listen live to see what would happen.

It was pretty amazing listening to Chris Broadcast this morning/ last night, knowing that he was sitting in a studion just a few blocks away. Usually I have to imagine everyone in London and it's so far away. This was a much more surreal listening experience, if you can imagine.

By the way, the really crazy part was that Chris was broadcasting from 1:30 AM til almost 5 AM local time.... he's back on the earlies! Haha.

I hope he took a cab back to his hotel, the area where Sirius studios are located (Times Square-ish) is so sketchy at 5 am.

I personally thought he was on the phone doing his part for some of the show.

I know Aled posts and reads this forum and for that reason I wanted to say well done to everyone for putting that show together. Considering it must have been very difficult to put together I thought it was a brilliant effort. I really enjoyed the show.

Cant wait for Chris (and Dom, we must not forget!) to get back to London so we can get back to normal.

Just to add to what everybody else has said, great job done by all the team this morning in getting the show up and running when they could have easily abondoned shows for the week. I've only heard the first half so far but havent noticed any major hiccups, so if they werent mentioning it, you could swear they were all in the same studio in London.

Even for Chris it must be cool to think that when hes live on air in NYC, no other DJ broadcasting from North America has a higher audience.

Fingers crossed we hear some live links from Cousin Brucie during the week too! :D

How long do you think this can go on?

If Chris get's a flight out tonight I guess he will take it... or do you think he'd wait to leave until Friday after the show tapes so he wont miss any more shows?

I would imagine he would take the first flight available, I know I would. It wouldn't be worth waiting as the volcano is continuing to erupt so you have to seize the opportunity when it comes.

I only heard the show from 6:30-8 but I have to say all did excellently this morning, considering the awkward set up, well done all :)

Listened from half six to just gone half eight and thought they did really well. Was a shame Dom wasn't there but it's nice to have them back! Even Dave and his shocking games.

Haha Chris is having a mild rant about how this thread is just praising Aled and not the rest of the team, 6:50 ish on Wednesday 21st April...

Yeah, we should highlight t'was a great effort from Chris too..... Really did sound like he was in studio with them, I was expecting it to be filled with comedy satalite delay.

Hope he manages to get back soon though, although I could think of worse places to be stuck, must be a bit of a ruddy pain.

Bless you Chris, the only reason we are all praising Aled is that we expect brilliance from you - when brilliance comes unexpectedly, its worth a comment!

I think this mornings show ran a bit smoother than yesterdays somehow!!
Still, Aled, Chris, Dave, Tina all did a good job..... Hopes Chris is back soon though, get things back to normal! But fair does to him, getting it all on air spot on from NY at 1:30am is good stuff............... And he still finds the time to check out this website haha!

I'm not sure there is a lot of praise on here for Aled. I mentioned his name simply because I know he reads this forum and I wanted my appreciated noted. I knew Chris reads here too, but wasn't sure he would bearing in mind he is in New York.

Anyway, today's show was even better. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but I am missing Dom. The little comments he throws in here and there always make me laugh and this makes me realise what an important part he plays.

I'm quite enjoying the shows this week. Maybe because he isn't running the show, Chris seems way more relaxed and laid back than normal. It's almost as if he's become a sidekick to himself, rather than himself? Not sure about Aled, but I think Dave has definately stepped up to the mark, I think he's done some good work this week in what is obviously a somewhat surreal and unplanned situation. Mysterious dog will do for this week - Just get "Where am I" back on next week, it's the hi-light of my drive to work!! Shame they can't get some New York based guests into the studio, I guess celebs aren't keen on being intverviewed at 2 - 5am in the morning, mind you, Dave Grohl has made it before now!

I hope they leave Chris out there.......

For this week anyway. :D If nothing else it certainly adds a new dimension to the show and its making great radio so far. With the BBC counting the cost of everything these days I'm sure it would be unlikely for them to approve the whole show being broadcast from the states again so I guess we should enjoy this while it lasts.

Chris just tweeted that they hes heading for the Letterman audience right now so I guess hes in NYC for another night at least.

I think Aled is doing a lot to make this work. The organisation must be 90% on his shoulders. Well Done Aled I say.

It's amazing how much more disjointed the show sounds when Chris can't see the rest of the team (the webcam feed's down today). I'm enjoying it though. The Westwood stuff was hilarious as usual and Warwick was a great guest. Bless Dom, you can tell he's had an exhausting few days, but it's so good to have him back!

I love Warwick, he's doing a talk and signing for me tomorrow. Gonna be a hoot!
