Making a compilation CD for a 2 hour car journey tomorrow, and I need some fresh ideas as to what to put on it. Anyone who can suggest something to make me say the word "choon!" in a ridiculously OTT and ungrammatical fashion will get a credit and their song suggestion on the album (which will be absolutely no use at all except a warm fuzzy feeling).

So fire away! I currently have about 8 songs, need about 18.

Focus - Hocus Pocus

Other than that:

They Might Be Giants - Birdhouse in Your Soul
ELO - The Way Life's Meant to Be
Pulp - Something Changed (or pretty much anything from Different Class, especially that and Underwear)
Andrew WK - Party Hard

Radar Love by Golden Earring is one of the best driving tunes ever. Going Underground by The Jam also.

Funnily enough, that's already on there.

Should have mentioned, I don't really want old songs. I've got Jump Around by House Of Pain on it so far and that about as far back as I want to go.

OK, here are the songs on it so far, just so people can get an idea of the stuff I'm into.

Andrew WK - Party Hard
Elbow - One Day Like This
Electric Six - Gay Bar
Doves - There Goes The Fear
House Of Pain - Jump Around
Stereophonics - Dakota
Florence and the Machine - Dog Days are Over
Blink-182 - What's My Age Again

I'm also toying with the idea of putting Idioteque by Radiohead on.

In all seriousness, Get On Up is an immense tune, but I think I'll save that as a last resort. ;)

Which all you can be. I love some cheesy pop songs too, but don't really want them blasting out of the stereo on the road - might get some funny looks!

That's the sort of thing I'm after. Don't think it makes it though.

Meh.

I think I'm going to put Smells Like Teen Spirit on there.

I can't decide between Lucky Man or Drugs Don't Work? I think the latter might be too depressing.

A few that would be good on a drive:

Snow Patrol - Spitting Games
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Off With Heads or Zero
Kaiser Chiefs - Good Days Bad Days or Ruby
MGMT - Kids
Infidels - Love Like Semtex
The Killers - Spaceman or Mr Brightside
The Red Hot Chili Peppers - The Zephyr Song, Love Rollercoaster or Universally Speaking
Bloc Party - Flux or Two More Years
U2 - Beautiful Day or New Years Day

And one cheesy one for you:
Spandau Ballet - Gold

What? Gold is an ace track, sod the haters (as the yoof would say) ;)
