Given that the vuvzela is an African thing and their use at football matches is a national socio-cultural tradition, its really not htat big a leap. Pretty much every debate about the damn things anywhere has touched on the question of whether a ban would be a racist move.

Middle class? Not a chance. My dad worked in a factory all his life, and I've always had to work. Working class and happy to be so I am. I can't argue with the "white" bit though, you got that right. I don't have any say in my ethnicity, so there's no point in being anything other than happy with that too!

Its a bit of a redundant debate these days though really. Most people who have half decent jobs now seem to regard themselves as middle class, which, when you consider that a new type of Non-Working-And-Probably-Unemployable class has developed, probably isn't surprising. I'm just old fashioned.
