So By reconing we have 12 Shows remaining too either hve a new contract signed, Or he is gone...

For me this is quite scary in a way as daft as it sounds, although i think he as signed or is going too because i think his job is safe. Its quite daunting to think that one day he is going to leave radio 1 and god knows what i'l do because he is the only Dj i listen to and i don't think his show will be the same on another station simply because of ads and the time he will have to chat and things like that.

But for now im sure he is safe

BBC are dragging their heels about their contracts in general though - they can't offer giant contracts anymore...the only thing that would give a lot of hope would be that Chris dislike commercial radio, and loves having the prestige of the breakfast show, after all he did say 'I want to work at the BBC, which is trying to save some of its gazillions', just after his paycut.

I can't see such a prominent part of the lineup being allowed to go without a fight, but i can't begin to think about the possibility of moyles leaving radio 1, let alone the breakfast show.

I very much hope that Chris stays with Radio 1 and with breakfast. Very very much. But if he doesn't, I will look forward to the next phase of his career and follow it with immense interest. But please stay.

BBC & Chris both pretend they can do without each other, then they give and take a bit, and you strike a new deal.

I predict a one or two year deal with a definative date set for Gregg to take over breakfast, I would guess January 2012.

BUT...

there is NO ONE currently on radio 1 who can replace Chris and Scott on Radio 1 breakfast and Drive. As much as people say they don't like him on breakfast. Scott's Style works for drivetime.

I didn't know dom went freelance at the start of the year. SO My view is that if Chris Left. The team as such will be together still.
Chris, Dave, Dom and Possibly Carrie when she returns... As much as aled, rachael, matt and sam will be and are loved by everyone on here. I am Very sure that New producers will quickly fit in with chris and the team...

Is Greyhead Actually Employed by the bbc. Or is he freelance with his job...
Maybe Chris can Produce the show himself... or perswade greyhead, (Maybe) rachael, (prob not being exec) aled (possibly, but too corparate) too join him and form it as a company. (kind of like chris evans did on his breakfast show...)

I am sure that Money isn't a factor for chris, dave and dom. And It is a case of getting the best deal for each of them...

If the worst comes too the worst... Where Will Chris Go. He is surely too big for local radio. And DAB is not really caught on as people thought. So 6 music maybe out of the question... But then it's a case, is he ready for radio 2. And if so. Where Can we see him going in the schedule. Maybe a 4 hour saturday show on a late saturday night. (I am very sure chris has the brains not too do a Sachgate)

I think if Chris only got a 1 year deal this time last year, surely the Beeb will only offer 1 more year this time, so as to protect themselves from potential future changes.

Much as I think Chris has years in that slot, i'm not in the target audience so my opinion matters little.
