Yeah more than likely, although like you I do find him unlikeable. I know Henman wasn't that great but he wasn't a git at least.

I didn't like Henman either. He struck me as a sulky, miserable piece of work who had a reasonable sense of how to play to camera. And I hate this building up of British tennis players as though they are as good as the likes of Federer and the other one I really like - wotsisname - when they clearly, aren't, they might struggle and win a few tournaments but the truly great players were doing that when they were teenagers for gods sake, and people like Murray (who I grant you IS better than Henman ever was) are just also-rans really.

Tennis is a stupid game anyway.

Nadal.

He'll be back to win it this year by the way. Not my boldest prediction ever, but still.

Usually I would support a Scot, however because he has shown such dislike of the English, even though a huge percentage of his fans are English, I really don't give a sod if he qualifies to the next round or not.

Unless there was something else I've missed, weren't those comments tongue in cheek, and about a different sport anyway?

Up to the point he became famous Andy Murray was pretty outspoken about his dislike of England and the English, and how he disliked being referred to as British because it bracketed him with the English. As soon as it looked like he might have a media profile to develop and maintain though, he quietened that down and did some heavy backtracking.

I don't dislike him because of that though, its more to do with his appearance - not his looks, his manner, he always seems so dreary and bored. I do like his brother though, I have a bit of a crush on him.

Good grief. If that's the case then surely it must bother him representing Britain whenever he plays?

I have no idea, but he seems able to reconcile his distress with his pay packet pretty well. Its really only Davis Cup and Olympic competition where he represents Britain though, the rest of the time he might be referred to as a British competitor but he's only competing for himself as an individual.

Well.... semi-final time and not a Williams in sight - that's what I call a result! Robin Soderling has caused two massive upsets in as many years now at the French and he may even have a sniff at Nadal again if they meet in the final.

Also I believe it's going to be a first time winner of the French Open now on the Women's side regardless of who wins which can only be good for the Women's side of the tour.

So, Rafa's back to the top without losing a set - I hope the form translates well to grass now, I see no reason why not.

Federer's a set down against Alejandro Falla, currently ranked of 65, highest ranking 58!

It would have made an increasingly boring tournament more interesting in some respects - but I'm glad Federer got through.

They've both smashed the ace record, plus it's the longest match in history in terms of games and time. I think the third set on its own is longer than the previous longest entire match, but I'm not 100% on that one.
