Right, i don't usually get all nitty-gritty and personal...but i'm pretty alone right now (and trying to fill time as i'm going to leave soon).

For anyone that knows me, i moved into a flat in wycombe with my girlfriend [of almost 5 years] at the beginning of this year, not a perfect relationship - but it worked. 6 months on, and a week from the second lease (signed, paid for etc.) beginning, and i have to move to London (monday-thursday) for my course.

I move to London, then last night (just before my presentation at an agency) i phone her to ask why half the money has gone from our joint account.

"I'll tell you tomorrow...fine - i'm not happy, i've gone home and i'm leaving you".

*blanks all further calls*

I get home today, and there's a letter explaining that she hasn't been happy and she's sorry.

Also, ALL her stuff has gone. literally everything. from the chest of drawers, to her kitchen utensils.

The flat is in both our names, and we need to cancel the lease with 2 month's notice, and bills etc. are still going out of an account which barely has enough for 1 month's rent, but she thinks that she's made a 'clean break'.

So Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday - she's had her parents over helping her move everything back to hers, and all the stuff i left at her parent's house is in the flat.

She won't speak to me at all, and refuses to think about any issues regarding the money we still owe on this place. Removed from facebook etc. etc.

I'm pretty upset, but trying to keep it together.

Well getting that out helped.

Get a solicitor to send her a letter about the fact that she is still responsible for the rent and bills until the end of the lease. It won't cost a lot and it'll be worth it.

What a shit way to go about things. You'll be fine soon. All the best.

And on the bright side you can start dating again! New lady friends.

As a small time landlord, if you find a tennant that is acceptable to the landlord I very much doubt he would hold you to account on the terms of the lease. Put an add in the newsagent or local free ads paper, you should be able to get shot of it within a month I suspect.

Trust in fate my friend, this is meant to happen and is taking you to where you should be, perhaps some digs in London full time, where you will find your fame and fortune.

With regard to ex, they are her issues, its not to do with you, personally I would leave her alone and sort "her" mess out if you can, drop her a note saying when she is ready call you and explain, but you understand she needs time.

Oh then go and find some no commitment lovin' to cheer you up.

I noticed the change in your fb status Andy, was gonna message you and check if you were okay. I'm so sorry man, I've been thru similar stuff and it's just awful. Email me if ya wanna talk. Also I agree with boboff about the fate thing...but I also know that it takes a long time to believe in that yourself. For a year after my ex fiance and I split I just couldn't accept that. Now I totally do.

My best friend always used to say to me "When one door closes, another one will open" - it used to drive me bonkers, but she was always, always right. Just takes a little time to get there.

Don't go out looking for someone. Its usually happens that you meet someone when you least expect it.

Hope things improve for you soon

Apologies for the double post, but also wanted to say that I agree with Jockey. I met my girlfriend when I went out for a friend's birthday meal. We met at the meal and met up a week later and now 6 years down the line we have just moved in together. Wasn't meant to be at the meal either as I had Arsenal tickets but gave them up so I could go to the meal. Fate maybe....?

Or you could meet someone off here whilst on the rebound, drink a few bottles of wine and then 16 months later be engaged and nearly 8 months pregnant...

Just catching up on this thread, sorry to hear ya story Andy. Ruddy women!

I'm guessing things have moved on a little since you started this thread, hope its a little better for you now....

This is why Motorbikes are better than women. My bike has never left me. It doesnt object if I look at magazines of other bikes or ogle bikes I see passing me in the street. Nor does it mind if I ride my mates bike. And it has one simple switch to silence it. Ho hum. :)
