So, I get to work this morning, nothing odd about that. Get out of the lift on our floor, the cleaner pounces on me straight away (no, not like that!)……

They had noted two black guys break into t he building at 0500 and lock themselves in the disabled toilet on our floor! The cleaners, in their infinite wisdom, had decided the best thing to do would be to wait for me to turn up to sort it out….!!

So, I evaluated the situation, banged on the door, no response. Decided to go to the kitchen to get a knife so I could unlock the door from the outside.

Now, I must stress I wasn’t totally sure what I’d find, my only description being ‘two black men’, I didn’t know if these guys would be as wide as they are tall. But no……

Turns out it was two student types who had been out last night and were stuck for somewhere warm n dry to go, so had broken into our office. I obviously woke them up and marched ‘em out the building. Boy did they look surprised to see me standing over them after only 1 hours kip! To be honest, I kinda went into dad mode and gave them a lecture as we walked down the stairs…..!

Ho hum, ain’t Mondays great!

I'd be thinking about upgrading the security if two pissed students can get in as easily as that I think.

Magnetic door locks..... About as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike..... They can only access the lobby areas, but still.
