I'm struggling to see the significance of the (attempted) quote, but in answer to your question, go through the same process you went through to put the one you currently have there on.

Isn't this whole thing actually rather straight forward? Chris's contract ran out last week, he hasn't yet signed a new one and he is carrying on until one is agreed or until both sides accept an agreement will never be reached.

If it gets decided he will leave, and as he wont be under contract, there will probably be between a fortnight and a months notice that he will be going. That way there will be time to appoint a replacement and Chris can bow out properly.

That seems like common sense to me.

There will be a bigger gap then that. If its announced this week it will be exactly a year to the week they announced Whiley's departure. She didnt go till 25th September so will expect Moyles will do the same.

Jo Whiley was still under contract, but whatever. It might be two months instead of one but in any case he wont be hanging aound long after failing to agree a new contract. He is likely to be negotiating a one year contract, so if that falls through he is hardly likely to stick around too long as that would just render contact negotiations pointless.

To be fair Mark & Lard only announced 4-6 weeks before hand that they were leaving, quite frankly their departure is still felt all these years later (well by me at least)

Right.

I've let this go on long enough now.

First of all, this thread is full of random people I've never seen on these boards before so I've not been reading it too closely (no offense, its just newbies tend not to last long and if you aint said hi in the newbie thread, I aint gonna recognise you).

Secondly - why all the talk of contracts? I've not been listening too much of late cos I've been off. All I keep reading is he DIDN'T say this and he DIDN'T say that. Has there been a couple of comments made to get us all worried? Or has someone on here started a ball rolling that noone else has picked up on? Is it even negotiation time?

Quad the * man... quad the *?

Good point - all of this thread is speculation, and has no real relevance to his contract.

Whether Chris has signed or not, we will find out in due course.

It is out of our hands so lets all chill out, and wait for OFFICIAL confirmation of the details.

The one year contract he signed last year ran out on 9 July.

And it's now the 14th? And he is still on air?

Am I missing something?

Of course you aren't, but the point is that considering the fuss that was made about it last year both on the show and in the wider media, and the fact that for a year since Chris has been at times actively encouraging speculation about his future on the show (which again has been picked up on in the wider media and responded to by Chris on air), it seems strange that the only time he has kept his mouth shut about whether or not he'll be staying on is now. If he himself had never mentioned contracts and his future at the BBC then there wouldn't be anything to comment on, but he has, many times, so its no wonder people are expecting some kind of announcement. Whether they'll get it or not is another matter, but given the circumstances its no wonder the expectation has arisen.

Yeah, I know he was talking about contracts and that a few times over the past few months or so. Hopefully he does renew his contract since it will give me something to listen to in the mornings and also during my night-shift work.

During the Jackie Chan interview, Chris said that if he's sent Jackie into his contract negotiations then he would have got whatever he wanted.

He really said that? Really? Wow - I mean I know Jackie Chan's good, but he's not Chuck Norris.

100s of age Dom age related comments today, wouldn't be surprised if the bbc wanted rid of him for being too old and Moyles is trying to fight his corner

Pfft. Original Miyagi would kick Chuck Norris' ass.

In fact, Original Miyagi would make Chuck Norris kick his OWN ass. He's that good.

Going by his comments this morning you would think the contract negotiations are over since Chris said it in the past tense! It's just surprising that given the long goodbye on the golden hour last week that there has still been no definite word on whats going on. Even Christian O Connell tweeted today about signing a new contract so we must be overdue a similar tweet from the big man!
