The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Hi guys.

Over the past 2 or 3 years, I've noticed that the team has given less and less time to Big Brother coverage.
Is this part of the BBC's "only promote that which is popular" stance rearing it's ugly head again?

I don't watch Big Brother more than 3 or 4 times a week, and then it's only ever the highlights show in the evening.
Part of my Big Brother enjoyment has always been the team's opinions and impressions of the house-mates, and there's just as much material to be had from the house-mates as any other year.

Last night's episode where they had to ignore any strange goings-on to pass the task was probably the funniest episode ever, and yet when someone texted in this morning saying how funny it was, and asking if they saw it, they just replied with an abrupt "No" and moved on.

I don't believe Aled has stopped watching Big Brother for a second, but he's such a jobs-worth that if his bosses asked him to lay off the coverage of Big Brother, he'd just salute and do what he was told.
I'm disappointed Chris hasn't had the balls to talk about it though.

Again, I should stress that I'm not a big fan of Big Brother, but there's definitely episodes worth watching, and Chris and the teams comments were always good listening.

I just find it hard to believe that not one of the team is watching Big Brother this year, when you compare it to previous years.

I think it must be a management decision.
Am I being cynical?

I think they like most people have lost interest. Its just not entertaining anymore, which is why it has so few viewers and has been axed. I think everyone was expecting something special for the last series, but its the same old rubbish of jumped up egos wanting to be famous with personalitys choosen so they clash! I like the first few series as it was "normal" people!

I agree, the first three years were enjoyable to watch, however over the last few years it's become stagnant & stale, perhaps the team feel the same?

I think the coverage on the show reflects the viewing figures in general. No one is really interested in BB any more. Why talk about a TV show your audience isn't watching?

Squib. The phrase is damp SQUIB, not squid. A damp squid would be pretty normal really. A damp squib wouldn't work though. #tootiredtosquibble. *quibble.

The question was "why". In the case of the music, the answer to that is obvious, they have to, its the rules. So what's your point?

Back when he first started on Radio 1 I think that was the case - didn't he say it himself at one point, that he kind of made himself develop an interest in Leeds United because he thought it was important to be able to talk about football on the radio? But I think he has developed a genuine interest, if not a particularly deep or wide one.

When they used to do girls going to football in the Saturday show, he really didn't know anything about football and didn't have an interest, but then as Leeds started to do quite well his interest grew

Gah, it hasn't. Can you tell I've never seen The IT Crowd? That obvious eh?
