with Mills covering i just wont be listing for the next two weeks, would like to see Gregg cover alright.

Greg should be covering for Chris without any doubt at all. I dont get the issue with Aled though. The show feels a bit too structured with him since Rachel went, but his on air personality is great in my opinion.

I miss Rachel, though.

Well for some reason, I get rather sad when I hear the closing theme tune..... Maybe thats the point of it, I dunno!

As for the opening Cheesy song, dont get me wrong - I love it, but its getting boring hearing the same "Good Morning To You Britain, It's Time To Shake A Leg...." Cheesy song Every morning, with just the days being different!

Get rid of Scott Mills in the morning...... I listened to him from 6:30 this morning for the first time, by the time he had played the first song, I switched off... It got me out of bed sure, but not for the good reasons! Give the breakfast slot when Moylesey aint in to either Greg James, or Matt Edmondson... (yes, I said Matt - really has grown on me that fella at the weekends!)

I'd keep the "Where Am I???" feature, and I'd love to see Viaduct make a return..........

As for Aled I do like him on the show but I have to agree on the Sunday Surgery it was a great show with Emma B and Doctor Mark but now its pretty bad. Aled could be good on a entertainment show get rid of the show after him with Grimmy let Aled do that.

Out of interest would people on here trade the Cheesy Song back for the "1-2-3-4" intro they had in the afternoon? I do like the Cheesy Song but just wondered if anyone on here preferred the other intro?

I think that the 1-2-3-4 intro was good but it would be way too loud for 6.30am!! The cheesy song is just a much calmer way to start the day which is what most people want if they were just getting out of bed.

I like the Cheesy Song, but I do have my reservations about it - mainly because I can't get over the nagging suspicion that rather than being there as a lovely intro to the show, its actually there to cover up that on a good day Chris tends to arrive at the studio with only moments to go before the show starts.

There seem to be two related clues as to how well Chris's routine has gone that morning - first, Dev usually finishes his show at 0626, Dom does the news, we have the time signal and the Cheesy Song starts. At the end of the lyris a few seconds pass, and Chris says hello. But if Dev plays an extra song and we get Dom at 0630 after the time signal we know Chris is running at least a couple of minutes late. Second, the Cheesy song ends - and the gap between the end of the lyric and Chris speaking stretches longer......and longer................and longer.....................and finally at about 0640 he speaks to a waiting world. Sometimes you can hear the studio door slam behind him.........

This happens a lot, and the Cheesy Song manages to cover it very well - I think that's it main purpose. However - I remember Voldemort saying once that when the Cheesy Song starts she imagines the sun coming up behind a row of hills and shining over the countryside....and I think I imagine that too, its a really nice way to start the day.

I like it when theres a gap between lyrics and "Good morning" I remember when he used to say that right before the bed kicked in, which was equally effective.

if i was to be pedantic - i would get rid of the golden hour (but then again, it would just be replaced with another hour of constant music - seems to be a pre-requisite of friday shows (at any time). only because i dislike the lack of links, which is probably a quota issue.

i never listen to the cheesy song anymore, just go straight past it.

I like the cheesy song. I remember Chris giving a reason why they binned the custom cheesy songs for each day but can't remember what he said now...

anyway I love the closing of the cheesy song and the anticipation...is he late? Well it was like that at the turn of the year after all the hullabaloo over Chris being late a few times and he's got his act together recently. But I always associate the end of the cheesy song with lateness and Aled or Dom muttering nervously.

I'd have loved for them to keep Where Am I? as I enjoyed that. If I could get rid of anything though it would be the music, the music is awful and repetitive. More chat!

It would be nice to bring out some of the older jingles again (Morning Jazz, Morning Horn, Morning Glitz, Morning Retro, Morning Swing) only having a handfull of out-of-news cuts in the current movies style gets repetitive, and bringing back some of the old jingles with generic lyrics and the accompanying beds would be great. Some of them are used on the podcast, so I assume there isn't a licensing issue.

Also mixing up the Cheesy song could be good, occasionally playing some of the original style ones before it got remixed? I really don't think it matters that they're not "brand new" any more.

I never listen to the cheesy song now I turn down during its duration, just find it irritating. And they should drop the golden hour, its a bit of joke now, its easy to get the year becouse the same song is always played, for example you know its 1998 when Millenium by Robbie Williams is played because chris has played it so often its ridiculas, so for the past couple of weeks I have stopped bothering with the first half hour, I just listen to the second half hour at least you may get a record before 1990!!!

Johnny. I would love too here the 4-3-2-1- theme tune again. but i do agree that it is too energetic for 06:30.

I also agree with yudster that you do know when chris is late by the ending of dev's show

I know it won't happen. But can't we get rid of tina. (she may be nice, but knows didly squat about sport) and have our origional sports reader back until/if carrie comes back.
Jules is back on radio 1 and i have heard her on scott in the afternoon.

Can we not have her back.

I really don't know why they need both a news reader and a sports reader, surely one can do both jobs. It can't be that hard can it! They only write one script anyway and just re-read it all morning
