People still don't appear to be getting my point. If Mills got the breakfast show full time he would get the resources that come with the show and would have whole new options given to him. Is Moyles the same in the morning as he was in the afternoon? He took a lot of things with him (I remember people on here being worried about long links etc) but its still a different show.

Different, but fundamentally the same. Of course the budget for the breakfast show is greater than that of Drive time, but it is fair to assume that Mills has the second highest budget, and he has done a fair bit with it such as two years of Edinburgh stuff.

Personally, his show content doesn't do it for me, and even with greater allowances I still think it will be more of the same. The only difference I could see is that there would be more of it and just variations on the theme.

That is great if you are a fan of Mills, but if you aren't, a far grander version of what we are already getting from him doesn't hold any real appeal.

Very true. The breakfast show was the worst thing that ever happened to Chris in my opinion. He was great on afternoons, but the show went downhill very quickly when he moved to breakfast. I'm not really quite sure why, I think he changed the format of the show too much and it was just overkill.

Anyway, as someone else said, if you're offered the breakfast show you'd be a fool not to accept it. I don't think Scott is out of line saying that. I don't want Scott to go to breakfast anyway, because I enjoy listening to Scott in the afternoon.

I remember when zane stood in. It was actually really good and it was quite funny when he got dared to play Justin bieber. I think i would rather Scott take over though still. I have nothing against him anymore.

Yes, I am saying exactly that. It wouldn't be the same show, as all shows evolve gradually. But it would fundamentally still be the same show. When he move to breakfast it was a different show, and in my opinion, not half as good.

God I agree with Sidders - although not about it being half as good. I think the current shows are as good as ever (especially the first half hour) but I still think the Saturday Shows were the best.

I really miss his saturday shows, that was the last time I listened to R1 on saturadys, dont bother listening at weekends, especially with Vernon and Sara to me nowadays weekend R1 just does'nt exist. Now its watching Soccer AM and the football all afternoon with Soccer Saturday and I'm out sundays

Its not good thats down too 2 hours, still better than Vernon, besides I have other choices that still bet Vernon, one, as a keen gamer like Chris watch a Gaming programe called gameface and Ginx File 11am to 12pm on Bravo and two Danny Baker on Radio 5 is back this saturday at 9am, who is someone Vernon can only dream of being (Vernon actual rang his show once before he started his at 10am once regarding a subject) so think I;m not missing much on Radio 1 thanks

I listen to Danny Baker then Fighting Talk - Five Live is brilliant on a Saturday morning. Its brilliant most of the time when Victoria Derbyshire / Gabby Logan / Alan Green aren't on.

Of course it's going to be a different show to the afternoons, it's the biggest show on the radio pretty much and they would have had to change to adapt to that and also people had started to say the afternoon shows weren't as funny if I remember correctly. In my opinion, it was a shaky start on breakfast, but the show has gone from strength to strength since then - particularly since it went to 6.30 starts and the half hour first link.
