The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

I believe it is Greg James or possibly as Yudster said, Jake Humphrey but you never know. The feature is lousy and lasts all of 3-5 minutes anyway and it is just dull to listen to. And as some people have said, the interruption to open the lines during the opening link is just stupid (can that not wait until just before the news hits or afterwards). Unfortunately, I can possibly see this going for several months (maybe up until Christmas, which I hope the hell it doesn't). Just have to wait and see where it goes from here but pretty much the majority on here hate it.

It can't be Jake Humphrey, it's an actor.

Yeah, I don't like it much either.

It's short, always an anti-climax and relies too heavily on the standard of contestant, which can only be variable.

Surely they could have done a Guess who with the audience, but instead of being someone they saw recently just recently, just random celebs. People call up & get 10 guesses to guess the person in question.

I know that sounds crap but it'd certainly be more entertaining than Celebrity Raspberry.

I agree that multiple guesses would bee better. Maybe not ten though. Maybe they could have three callers each day instead of one.

But, on reflection, is it really worth any effort to save this feature. It is a waste of time. End of.

Sorry I was a bit unclear, what I meant was a version of the old "Guess Who" game they used to do on air, where they'd bounce round the team to guess who, say, Chris had seen in Hyde Park recently. No silly gimmicky noise just two contestants playing with then asking questions on air:

Contestant 1: Are they male
Chris: Yes
Contestant 1: Are they British: No
Contestant 2: Are they American
Chris: Yes
etc.

Either way I hope Celebrity Raspberry is gone by October (when they're next on a break I believe).

Ahh. No, the mistake was mine. I didnt read your post properly.

I think that is a decent suggestion, actually. Would be a vast improvement on Celeb Raspberry.

And I personally think you're right. Nobody seems to have noticed it's the first feature on 1FM to give out prizes since Jo Whileys producer named the Blue Peter cat

Did i dream World Cup Weekenders?

Your right, they stopped that at the start of the year I think.... the jingle says "...BBC Radio 1" instead.

I don't dislike Raspberry, but the prizes seem a bit arse end first - win it on Monday with virtually no clues, get one mug. Win it on Friday with loads of clues and knowing 4 people that it isn't, you get 5 mugs? How does that work?

Would it work better in reverse order? i.e. Monday's prize is five mugs; Tuesday = four; Wednesday = three; and so on, with each day's contestant choosing which mug to get rid of.

She was wasn't she? They should have put her on the Map - which they seem to have forgotten about.

Two have gone this week, yesterday they guessed right with Matt Smith, and today the new went first go - it was Alesha Dixon (who was always going to be on the list).

Didn't they put that guy who owned a barbers on the map? Can't remember where abouts he was from though.

I would never have got Matt Smith but managed to guess Alisha Dixon this morning.

I miss Where Am I...
