nothing suspicious here I think - most work places people are ill on a day to day basis but assuming after a doctors appointment or negotiations with the employer a period is set. In Chris's case it seems to be til next week.

What? It was Monday evening when Aled found out Chris wouldnt be on air the following day. Shortly afterwards Vernon announced he would be covering. Since then it has been day by day.

Why are people desperate for Dave to do the show? Anybody with any sort of intelligence who has ever listened to the show before would know that it would be an unmitigated disaster. This isn't a slight on him as I do like him but his speech doesn't flow well enough for the main spot.

After giving it some thought I agree with you. I originally wanted Dave to drive the show, but in reality it wouldn't work. And obviously Dave has made it clear he wouldnt want to do it.

If I remember correctly, when Scott Mills called in sick Chappers filled in for him. Dave clearly knows it isn't for him.

On the Dave presenting front, he did a Saturday breakfast on his own once I think - last minute cover and Chappers wasn't available to do it with him (the producer drove the desk IIRC).
