The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

I missed the interview, but caught the end of the show, they were all talking about what he'd said and he was controversial ETC.

Can anyone give me a rundown of what was said please, i'm not where I can listen again at the moment.

Many thanks.

They were talking about David Haye and Dizzee Rascal blurted out that Haye had told him that before a fight, he has sex but doesn't come. A totally stupid and irresponsible thing to say on breakfast radio.

He also made a comment about "what he'd like to do to" Katy Perry. Thank the Lord he didn't elaborate any further. The man's an idiot.

i've not listened yet - but i'm a big all round dizzee fan, and given that he's been a good guest before i can only assume it was an off day as he's usually quite media appropriate. unfortunate if he's let himself down on today's appearance.

He stopped and thought about what he was saying before he said it as he knew it was breakfast time but decided to say it anyway, I have no problem with him but deliberately talking about sex and * at 8am is disgusting and completely different to an accidental slip of a swear word.

lol - no. He ain't that bright.

not particularly, given that he wouldn't be looking to generate inappropriate press for his new mainstream image (now that he's moved away from his grime roots) - and he's also pretty heavily on with the sponsors...and his new sky show.

so no. not a publicity stunt.

and for the reasons outlined above, it wouldn't be bright for this to have been a publicity stunt.

(i will be providing one sided comment to weigh in against the ill feeling toward dizzee. i feel it'll start getting ridiculous from my end soon)

Well its must not have caused a stir in R1 because the i-player replay includes the comment. I know the comment is OTT for breakfast but I don't know was it actually worse than the f-bomb? Honestly i think that Newsbeat story on the breakfast show in the last week or two of some guy going on about having an STI is just as uncomfortable when eating your Corn Flakes as Dizzee today.

Honestly whats the point in Chris falling over himself apologiseing after it was said when if anything it would just draw more attention to the comment. I'm sure Chris knew straight after that they would end up getting grief over it, but the damage is done at that stage and he promptly shut down Dizzee telling that particular story.

Do you honestly think it putting you off your breakfast is the problem?

i found it a fascinating insight into the techniques used to artificially inflate the levels of testosterone before a boxing match, in order to gain a heightened level of aggression and competition.

ok. i didn't, but still.

Well its caused enough of a stir to have them take it out now - unless you were mistaken in the first place.

my guess would be hangover.

seems an appropriate reaction for mentioning that a boxer doesn't * when he has sex before a fight.

if that's how low the criteria for wholehearted persecution, i genuinely despise you.

No I definetly heard it on the i-player about an hour ago because I was asleep when it was played live this morning! I notice since then that 38seconds have been cut out of the i-player from 3hrs 35min to a total show length of 3hr 34min 22sec. Of course its the right call that the comment is taken out, its just that I woulden't condone people writing in complaining about it. Its a stupid slip up and I'm sure the team will learn from it. All complaints seem to do is just tighten the screw on spontaneous comments and on-air humour even further. The last thing we need is something like a 5 second delay on live broadcasts coming in beacuse of incidents like this.

i've just heard it...cringe. massive cringe. still, i laughed.

To be honest that pretty much summed up my response to it aswell! Dizzee is a brilliant talent and I would not change my opinion of him just because he made one comment thats probably best suited to the pub.

Did anyone manage to download it before they edited, just curious to hear it & the teams reaction that's all.

My opinion on comments on here, he's silly really seeing as he's been on the show before, however I really hope it doesn't get complaints as we'll end up with the show being further regulated & the Media stink being kicked up again by the Heil, Express & the like.

To clarify.. my comment wasnt based on what he did or didnt say on the show today. I havent heard it, and dont really care. Its just my opinion of the man.. generally; which I'm entitled to. You've made it clear you're a fan, and I havent insulted you for that, so please allow me to have my own opinion too. This isnt the Dizzy is great and no one can say otherwise forum you know..

I'm assuming that JimLafleur had already formed this (admittedly fairly harsh) opinion before he heard the interview.

Edit: oh, he's just said that himself too.

It probably is fairly harsh, but theres something about him - and Dappy from N-dubz - that I just cant stand. Lambast me if you must.. but I cant be doing with either of them..

erm, it sort of went:

Dizee:He told me....erm....... he told me ...... he told me that before a fight he has sex, but sort of doesn't come"

Chris: "awwww dizeee" something "You could have said 'he didn't arrive' apologies if you're eating your breakfast"

then later "can I finish my david haye story?"

"no if he can't finish then you can't"

it's not that bad to be honest, it'll go right over the heads of most kids.
