And then there were 4...

Only songs that got a least 3 votes make it to the final...

You only get one vote...

Paul McCartney + Wings - Live and Let Die

Queen - Don't Stop Me Now

Steve Harley and * Rebel - Make Me Smile (Come Up and See Me)

    The B52's - Love Shack

Make your choice...NOW...

I'm not saying I voted for that from the four, nor that Wings were good for anything else, but that song is great.

That Queen song will always be associated with that guy who had "Butterfly syndrome" who had a tiger and a can of baked beans on his coffin, who love Queen.

Topher, that song is meh but Wings are unforgivable. You better be wearing a Partridge-esque cardigan.

See, that can't be true, because I voted for that and it only has 1 vote.

I really cannot stand that song.

The results of the poll were (I didn't set an end date on the poll)

Paul McCartney + Wings - Live and Let Die
6
30%

Queen - Don't Stop Me Now
8
40%

Steve Harley and * Rebel - Make Me Smile (Come Up and See Me)
3
15%

The B52's - Love Shack
3
15%

And so the 'most golden song' and the best song of the last 50 years as voted for by this forum (kind of) is:
Queen - Don't Stop Me Now

I thought they covered it very well.

Well I like McFly and I thought it was good. Ner.

I must confess, I do quite like McFly, but that is just one of those songs which should never be covered. Remember Madonna's version of American Pie? That makes me feel physically sick.

I'll not argue with you on that one. American Pie is one of Mr Yudster's favourite songs, and if anyone mentions the Madonna version he turns from a gentle, mild mannered man to the Incredible Hulk. Only less green. Marginally.

Yes, yes, yes! American Pie is a fantastic record and Madonna's version is awful.
