I know I could put this in other places but since I found how I can download the shows on iplayer via an application on here, I might as well ask for something. You see, I listen to The Late Night Show with Colin Murray every Friday Night on Radio Ulster, which I enjoy a lot due to the variety of music he puts on and not the same guff you hear on Radio 1 etc etc. Now, unfortunately, last Friday, stupid rain stopped the signal and by the time the signal came back, the show was over. Now, I tried downloading it from the iplayer via the ipdl app but for some reason it ain't working since it just says "This programme is not yet available, if its new please try again later!" Now, I have downloaded Chris Moyles a few hours after his show finishes up so I don't have a problem there.

Just wondering if there is any other application there that can download stuff from the iplayer since I would like to listen to the show this week during work tonight, as it helps pass the time and saves me from listening to the same old crap like Florence and the Machine etc on the radio there.

I have tried several times to download his Radio Ulster show to no avail, it seems as if iPlayer Downloader doesn't like it for some reason or another unfortunately.

Well good news that I found a way to download the show and convert it to mp3 and checked to see if it came out ok and it did so will be putting it onto my mp3 player and listening to it tonight or tomorrow. If you want to do it yourself Johnny go to this site: http://www.hidownload.com/download-bbc- ... -radio.htm to download the software and follow the instructions and then this site http://youtubedownload.altervista.org/ to download the coverter, unless you have a reliable converter already. First link's Software is trial only but it helped me for the time being.

The Iplayer download app uses a loop hole to download the mp3 file that the IPhone/IPod Touch has access to.

All the national radio networks, (radio 1, 2 etc) convert their programmes into aac (for the standard iplayer) and mp3 for the iphone.

Some of the smaller networks, Radio Scotland and Radio Ulster do the aac conversion but not the mp3, simply due to the resources they have. So it's possible that the Colin Murray show on Radio Ulster (which I agree is very good) will never work with this method.

Thanks for giving me the explanation as to why it doesn't work with the download app. I found a way around it anyway but downloading the .flv and then converting it to mp3 using the programs I listed above in my previous post. So I'll know what to do in case this happens again.

Glad to see that I ain't the only one who likes his show. Only started listening there a few weeks back and like with the Chris Moyles show, regretting not coming across it sooner.

I have almost all the shows from his last three weeks at Radio 1

HOWEVER!

They're STILL stuck on my old hard drive & a combination of not having the money too and/or not having time to get it sorted means I haven't got round to getting them off of there still.

However I do have the last show to hand so if anyone wants it just say so & I'll upload it on this thread :)

Possibly the best thing Radio 1 has ever done.

I never listened really to Radio 1 before listening to Chris from July 09 so no. If it was anything like the late night show on Ulster, I would like it. Was it Nick Grimshaw who replaced him when he left? There is just sonething about him I find annoying and enjoy the Annie & Nick show on Sunday nights a lot better when he ain't there but Annie is away for 2 weeks, which sucks.

I would like that last show Johnny just to see how it was. Also, when did he leave Radio 1? I know he used to be with Edith I believe before he moved to the late night slot.
