I've never quite believed in the "nice" Michael Caine, partly I think because the mega-wealthy cigar smoking tax exile Michael Caine doesn't much appeal to me. He comes across very well on telly and radio (I haven't heard today's yet but I bet he was on good form) but then he's an old school professional, he would do. I'll listen to the interview later, I bet its good.

They handled it the right way though in my opinion - ignored it then quietly apologised later on.

Dominic's impressions just get funnier when the actual person is in the room, last time that happened Jools Holland walked in.

Poor Dom looked like a man begging for his life to be spared before somehow scraping together the courage to impersonate Sir Michael actual Caine. Just brilliant, and considering the number of times people must have waddled up to him and done a daft accent - which probably sounded more like 'Allo Dororthy', (Jim Branning) Dominic still got a laugh out of him.

@themichaelcaine just transcends time on screen even though he ages, a cinematic legend. Normally it's just Moyles and co who get to be starstruck cos they meet celebs but this was a rare 'O to the M to the G', as Chris wrote on Twitter.
