 You reminded me a bit of Comic Book Guy then

How long do TV programmes last on the iplayer after transmission? I know Radio is 7 days but I thought TV was a month?

TV tends to be seven days except some flagship programmes, which keep all episodes on until a week after the series has finished I think.

Surely the point of Triggers post is that he is slow and behind the times?!?!

Surely that is the joke?

Surely?

Actually you may be right... I prefer not to give people that benefit of the doubt though.

Ah ok I see, that explains why Doctor Who was on there for ages.

Only Fools and Horses prequel Rock & Chips is to return for Christmas and Easter specials.

BBC One has ordered two hour-long versions of the sitcom from creator John Sullivan

It follows a 90-minute special, aired in January, which explained how safecracker Freddie 'The Frog' Robdal – played by Nicholas Lyndhurst – had secretly fathered Rodney in Sixties Peckham.

All the main cast are returning, including Inbetweeners star James Buckley as the young Del Boy, plus new cast members including Paula Wilcox playing Del’s grandma Violet and Kacey Ainsworth, aka Little Mo in EastEnders, as the mum of one of Del’s girlfriends.

Sullivan said: ‘We are thrilled that Del’s winkle-pickers and bomber jacket are going to get another couple of outings on BBC One The first episode was a great popular success for the channel and there’s plenty more twists and turns in the Trotter family history for us to explore before we’re finished.’

Ah yes, read about this the other day. It's a shame they've not commissioned a proper series though.

None whatsoever - I won't watch it because pretty much everyone says it's rubbish and I don't want it to ruin anything for me.

It's not actually that bad, it's just nothing like Only Fools and Horses. You can't really compare the two really.

You can, because it involves 2 OFAH characters, and written by John Sullivan himself. It's a continuaton of the lives of Boycie and Marlene. It just proves that you need the entire cast to make those 2 work, and if you take them out on their own, it's just not as funny

I may well tune in for this tonight, John Sullivan wrote about what he knew, which made it great, you can watch those classics over and over and laugh even though you know whats coming.

RIP

The third one-off special in this prequel series to Only Fools And Horses sees the Trotters still stuck in 1961, with Joan holding the family together as layabout husband and Grandad look on, while carrying on an affair with Rodney's dad Freddie, under the pretext of working as his charlady. Young Del, meanwhile, is wooing the daughter of a stuffy local undertaker. There's slightly more emphasis on the comedy than the drama this time but it's hardly rollicking stuff and works best as an hour or so's ambient period recreation of pre-Beatles repressed Britain.

Aren't you getting Rock and Chips mixed up with The Green Green Grass?

I suspect that my post was not clear and indicated that it was, indeed, you who had failed. Which you haven't. Well, you have, but not specifically in this thread. No more than others anyway.

I've since edited to unleash the full force of my abuse at Lord See Kaye.

I think it was this -

C-Kay wrote:You can, because it involves 2 OFAH characters, and written by John Sullivan himself. It's a continuaton of the lives of Boycie and Marlene. It just proves that you need the entire cast to make those 2 work, and if you take them out on their own, it's just not as funny

And I think Foots deems it a "Fail" because C-Kay is in fact describing The Green Green Grass, not Rock and Chips. I am assuming this though, because I don't watch any of the damn things, so my question was at least partly genuine!
