I heard ten minutes worth and couldnt take any more. In the afternoon I can tolerate and even mildly enjoy some of the stuff he does, but first thing in the morning he just is not for me.

His "banter" link as he called it was pathetic (between 6:30-7pm), I think even he is starting to realise he ain't popular in the breakfast slot and you could just sense this morning that he felt under pressure...... Bless his cottons.

That was exactly what I thought. Mills would have been reading a load of negative and quite abusive texts, was stung by them, and read out watered down versions. The thing that made it worse for him is that I bet a lot of the texts weren't just about wanting Chris back, but also made it clear that they preferred Sara as well.

Mills isn't as bad I used to make him out to be, but he is absolutely no replacement for Chris Moyles whatsoever, not even for five days. And what makes it worse is that he just does his own show! He makes no concessions whatsoever to the fact he is covering someone else's show, let alone the show of the longest running breakfast DJ in Radio 1 history.

I want him to stick to at least some of the structure of the Moyles show, but as he wont/isnt able to handle so much free air time, I take it as a blessed relief when he plays some music. I would rather switch to the adverts on Galaxy than another edition of stupid street or the interminable PR4L cobblers.

His use of the word "Actual" is irritating.
Why cant he kick off with a Cheesy Song in the morning???? As hot as she sounds, "Actual" Becky is pretty cringeworthy aswell.
And to top off a miserable morning breakfast show, we still cant get away from Fearne's MOOOORRRRRRRNIIIIIINGGGGGGGG.... Not good stuff to listen to this week!

As I remember there's a Scott version of the Cheesy Song, that he did actually use for a few days before binning it. If he dug that out, and used the cheesy outro he could probably get to 6.50 before needing to play a record which might appease some people.

Tell you what annoys the hell out of me - his use of the Top/Bottom of the Hour bed (the one with the donut for the pips) after the news rather than before it!

That wont happeen, but that is the way it should be. Keep Mills in his own slot and where he works best, and Sara to replace Chris. Seems logical to me.

Yes, seems logical. Must have been a reason Sara didn't fancy two weeks of early mornings on the trot. Only thing I can think of is Sara's baby daughter, in which case its understandable.

I listened for a while this morning but it was all music. Which is no bad thing with Mills. Becky is absolutely dreadful too, they really make an incredible double act. I just struggle to find anything remotely likeable about her.

I was going to listen to the first half hour to see how bad it could be but I see they haven't even bothered to upload this morning's show on the BBC Moyles page. I see all Coxy's shows are there. Mmm.

isnt Scott Chris's main choice of replacement? i'm sure i read somewhere that it was in his contract that Mills is the main stand in.

I doubt Scott was getting a barrage of abusive texts. He brings over his own loyal listenership to the mornings, many of whom would normally be listening to Chris anyway. He's the second most popular DJ on the station - that's the reason he fills in at Breakfast.

My tuppence.. Scott suits drive, and his style works there. I'd even go so far as to say he is appointment-listening in the afternoon just like Moyles is appointment listening in the morning.

But Scott on breakfast? No thanks. Bring on Friday 10am when things are normal again. Is this what Heart is like every day?

I guess it's testament to just how good Moyles is, too.
