Anyone else starting to get annoyed with Chris mocking impression of the carpark catchphrase callers?

It seems if your, Irish, Scouse, Brummy, you wont get through the game with out Chris doing an impression of you.

Pretty much everytime I downloaded the podcast, oh it was Ant and his silly voice.

There are times when I think he takes the piss too much and takes what comes across as quite a mocking, sneering tone and that annoys me. The accent thing itself doesn't bother me, though. When there was a guy on from Manchester a few weeks ago Chris's impressions were absolutely brilliant. It's when he starts sneering about peoples occupations that I don't like it.

That said, I genuinely don't think there is any malice behind it. Chris comes from a working class background and I don't think he intends any harm. I think when you have the sort of on air persona that Moyles does, there will be times when it seems that he has gone to far, but that is the risk when you do what Chris does.

Its not that its even offensive. Its just when you hear the caller say 'Hi im so and so form Manchester' I immediatly think - cue Chris's impression. They are normally good, it just seems like he has some 'accent torrets' or something, he hears a accent and has to repeat it.

I think its funny too, and as for being mocked if you call in, well, he's been on air long enough for anyone who volunteers for that to know exactly what they're getting themselves into.

I think it adds a bit of personality to the show perhaps...but I can understand it can easily go too far.

Chris is an excellent impressionist all round - a rare talent I think. The other day he moved from Manc to an excellent Frank Sidebottom impression almost seamlessly and I have been impressed with his other work in the past. But I agree, he can be a little sneering sometimes of people's occupations etc. I worry that he has forgotten where he came from but also remember that Chris's main forte back in the day was being a shock jock and basically berating pretty much everything so this does come through sometimes.

I don't know if anyone else has seen the Impressions show this series but there is a Gary Barlow impression on it and I honestly believe that Chris can do it better than John Culshaw

I wasn't having a go. I was just pointing out that we all make mistakes when posting on a message board and so long as they are comparatively trivial who cares?
