Damn, good shout bmstinton93.... there's so many from this year that I like.

There's Lennon, Bowie, Pink Floyd, Queen ( including the Flash Gordon tune!..... "he'll save every one of us" ;) )

I'll probably stick with Ashes to Ashes right now unless I can think of something else:

:)

I absolutely love this song, it was the reason why I got into The Jam as well as (whispers it) The Style Council

The Style Council's first two albums were brilliant, it all went a bit Pete Tong after that. One of the great disappointments in my life is that I haven't enjoyed anything that Paul Weller, who I regard as a legend, has done as a solo artist.

Do you guys have a web site that gives the year of the music? The one I used last week was seen to be incorrect, as you are all annoying arseholes who check the dates of the * songs I choose perhaps we could agree a source for external verification, and also so I can one day catch Sidders out please.

musicoutfitters.com is what I usualy use.... But to be fair I only get there by googling 'hits of 1980'. Wikipedia are good for lists of number ones from each year, but you don't always want songs which hit No1.

I have every song that hit number 1 from 1956 to this years x factor 2010 single on my computer but otherwise i use either wikipedia or sort music by year on my itunes.

NUmber 30 for 1980 then on everyhit.co.uk, John Lennon Just Like starting over. Seems apt given it's 30 years today he was killed

Worst Pink Floyd track ever. I always wondered if they did it as a joke, its so far below the standard of their usual stuff.

Released in 1979 but included on the 1980 album "The Age Of Plastic", ladies and gentlemen, I give you the first ever music video played on MTV:

Gotta say, I agree with Bob. Surely its the year of release, not the year it featured on an album, or we enter a whole new domain with 'best of' releases. With that logic you could have a lot from the Jackson 5 for 2009..........?! Doesn't seem right to me.

I would imagine it would be the original album it appeared on, excluding best ofs or compilations and soundtracks - I would imagine. Otherwise you can't have album tracks that weren't released, can you?
