Is there anyway of changing the Chatroom to something that is Android and iPhone friendly, maybe java? Or is that too much hassle?

He has an Android which is why it works because they have flash but I want something that works on both at the same time rather than just android.

I don't think you can get a Java virtual machine to run on either iPhone or Android - but a fully client-side javascript chatroom should work.

Or possibly like a simple app or something? For example I don't own a smartphone with an app store or anything but I have a gmail application on my phone and also a ebuddy application for msn messenger but obviously something like that could be extremely difficult to set up

iPhone doesn't have flash and it isn't allowed flash any time soon either.

Which is funny, as I understand it, Apple invested a lot of money in building flash for iphone/pod/pad. Adobe had pretty much finished building it and Apple pulled out, even though they had paid the money for it

Maybe if it was moved to an IRC room or something like that rather than a Flash-based interface; that way it would work on everything.

Flash to be is a resource hog and full of security holes; Adobe has been slow to patch so I don't blame Apple or Microsoft hating on the Flash, with their pushes with HTML5 and Sliverlight respectively. But I don't want to start a whole argument about something completely unrelated to the thread subject.

IRC

I'll have a look into writing a javascript version of the client over the weekend if I get time - I started writing one before for myself, although I can't remember how successful it was.

Going in a slightly different direction with regards to the chatroom. Hopefully won't take too long.
