Jo Whiley to leave radio 1#426899

It has been confirmed that Jo Whiley will be leaving radio 1 after 17 years in April and moving to radio 2. Huw Stephens will be taking over her weekend show. Personally i think this is good news as i don't particularly like her style of broadcasting.

At last. Another change which will be no loss to R1..... Never used to like Whiley, so boring, always turn her off at weekend.

I've actually met Chris n shook his hand. This fact is still causing slight issues in my trouser dept.... :wink:

She did the Gary barlow concert on radio 2 and talked over a lot of it which really turned me against her

She's been doing shows on Thursday nights on Radio 2 for a while, so I think this was an inevitable switch.

I like Whiley - I know I'm in the minority on here, but I've always liked her.

I thought it might have signalled another shakeup in the line-up, but I guess it's just because Jo is leaving Radio 1.

It's hard to say if I liked or disliked her. But I missed her when Cotton took her place. Please get that woman off the radio.

But Jo is an unobtrusive and harmless soul. Radio 2 might well suit her better. All the best to her.

Sara Cox is probably the greatest female DJ though

Jo Whiley is superb. It took me ages to warm to her, but for the couple of years prior to her being replaced by Fearne I really enjoyed her show. On the occasions I have heard her at the weekends she has been very entertaining as well.

An excellent DJ and broadcaster.

I always liked listening to Jo on long road journeys. Not the same with Fearne.

Mixed feeling really, I wasn't a fan of her's as she came across smug however she's 10000 times better than Cotton

Notice no one has mentioned about Radcliffe & Maconie's move to 6 Music (it's WAS on the same article on my phone), in some ways that's an excellent move, they get better music to play & both are excellent broadcasters, 6 Music is getting better & better IMO
